Exhaust stud replacing

Have removed all the old crusty exhaust studs on my speed triple. Before fitting the new ones do people use coppaslip, loctite them in or something else?

I use copaslip (well, the Wurth version of it, CU800). Loctite is a waste of time as the temps at the exhaust port are enough to render it ineffective.

We don't use anything, just finger tight as torque is acquired when you tighten the nuts. Same deal with the 1/2in ARP head studs when I built my 460 CobraJet (which I think were 180ft/lb when torqued), ditto on aircraft engines.

As ZRX61 said finger tight and if you can, use brass nuts. as they cut off easily should you have problems down the line...

Bought a set of copper plated nuts a while ago for different bike. Didn't use them and happily they fit the triumph. Coppaslip and finger tight seems to be the way to go. Cheers.
