So once again we're at the question as to whether Politics is allowed on the forum.
We all know why we're here, we all know how we've got here...
So it's up to you lot to decide the fate.
In terms of the question, this is also 'any politics discussions'
So, yes or no.

Easy enough not to enter if easily offended.

I say 'Go' but only because -
- you've been here so many times before
- moderating within differing perceptions of the boundaries is impossible
- banning doesn't work
- "ignore it" doesn't work
Personally I could talk about politics until the cows come home but then I really DGAF what anyone calls me, and it's not my party anyway.

I've said okay as it is a choice to wander into that antheap and poke sticks. I don't poke sticks, but I do sometimes wonder at what makes people tick and watch the antics with quiet amusement.... Sometimes people need an outlet and this is a place where there are some very caring and kind people who sometimes just say the right thing at the right time.

This isn't the first time this question has been asked which suggests its value-add isn't obvious and it is frustrating to manage.
On those grounds- I'd vote go. I think that would almost certainly invite a 'no politics at all' stance across all forums.
It's a shame.

I have been on forums like that, no politics, religion or anythingvelse contentious. They can become very boring, I am probably still a member but I haven't logged in for years.

I am fine with it staying. It could be informative and useful .
But with the current “Gang of Three” it’s not - if they could maybe just grow up a little bit, and realise that the world is full of folks with different opinions, and not “right” and “wrong” , we could all rub along nicely.

Whether you like it or not, politics has effects on just about all areas of our lives. It should be open for discussion.
I don't get the fascination with American politics though; maybe UK politics isn't polarising enough. Or maybe everyone's happy with UK politics.

Discussion
Terminology of discussion encompasses words describing the exchange of ideas, analysis, and debate, including terms like dialogue, conference, deliberation, discourse, and consultation. These terms, often used in professional or academic contexts, signify a formal or informal examination of a topic to reach understanding, decisions, or explore solutions.
Is that what we've been doing ? I must have missed that

Supposing, hypothetically, Russia invades Estonia or Alaska, Trump's boys land on Greenland (or Iceland) etc etc. Nobody on here is going to mention it? It's 'political'?
Starmer calls an election in April, the board stays in purdah?
Nah.
Leave it where it is I say and put some stick about if people can't differ in a civilised manner. Put a few lines in the sand and land mines on the wrong side of the line.

Happy with UK politics? You are joking?
I think the obsession with US politics is because
A) it does affect us, indirectly but significantly.
B) it is intensely polarised.
C) various aspects of the current situation appear (from a UK view) to be disturbing.

I voted for it to stay, however....
1. No personal insults or digs, stick with the point you're making.
2. No swearing, I know we're all grown-ups- ish. However if you cant make your point without swearing then, you're not making a reasoned response.
3. No religion or religion based discussion or digs.
4. Godwins law says you get a week in the cooler.

I suppose what the real question boils down to is,do Weeksy and the mods want to be bothered policing the politics board?
I have zero interest in politics,so that in itself disqualifies me from the vote.
We know this has been an ongoing issue from VD times and it eventually wore down WB, The people involved will never change, nor even modify their stance,so it's a pretty safe bet the cycle of crime/punishment/resume/rinse and repeat will continue as it is.
Has anyone ever been given a holiday or a ban in any other part of the forum, other than the politics section?
What I see happening now,is the confrontations spill over into the other sections, mainly because someone decides they dislike another's political opinion and they can't get past that in any context.
I don't care if it goes or stays, but I do care about the bad feeling that it generates, which inevitably impacts on the forum as a whole.

Nah, not really mate. It's the forums forum and the forum get to decide. If the mods are unhappy with the decision i'm sure they'll tell me and we'll talk about it.
But this isn't now and has never been 'my' forum.
