This may be of interest to those in Surrey, Sussex and bordering areas. Just for ride outs or meet-ups etc.

Nice idea. 👍

67 is popular with cyclists - the area it's in is flat though and muddy in winter.

78 does what may be the best cheese on toast on the planet. (There's the Firebird brewery next door if you want to stock up on beer too :D ).

Neither have 'billiard table' surface parking.

Devils Dyke Inn!! It’s rubbish , it is the tattiest pub in know, with rubbish service. But they do have a bowl for dog water.
Fuel’s not bad
Hummingbird is good but not what it was.
Billy’s - TBH I would just go to the transport cafe just down the road.
Whyteways shack was always dreadful but has now gone.
Some of the cycling ones are very good …

Surprised to learn Whyteways has gone. It always looks busy when I pass it. I've only ever been once though, that was enough :D

When I'm that way, I'll go to the East Beach cafe on littlehampton's east beach.

I've been to number 62 the sea lane cafe, it was ok, but I didn't appreciate having to order from the serving hatch when you sit outside in their covered area.

79 The Plucky Pheasant at Newlands Corner is good, not cheap though and often busy.

Obviously, living in west london and having a bike means I've been to Rykers, Newlands corner and Loomies.

East Beach cafe is good - if you can get in !
Newlands is ok - a regular place to meet some SW London friends
Sea Lane Cafe - often rammed with the usual beach goers - so I wouldn't really pitch it as a bikes meet.
Whteways closed beacuse the Duke of Norfolk wanted it to ( and folks behaving like knobs)
Rykas - good to go and look at the bikes, the food is sometime iffy, service actually quite efficient but it now seems to have a clientele of E Europeans who insist in reving teh bollock off their bikes on Sunday morning. Depsite others telling them not to ... The locals are trying to get it closed down
The Wildflower is very "Brighton" - coffee is fine, but avoid the flapjacks - they are made from straw and horse feed, and very low levels of sugar. A tad grim.
There is a cafe / bike shop just next to Hunts Wheels/Privateer in Partridge Green that used to be okay
Dee Dee's in Findon is an experience - helps if you like cakes that have 2k calories in them them and you like pink https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restauran ... gland.html
The Goodwood one is nice - and good for meeting Rockburner and Count Steer
Henfield has a cafe called The Post Office" - which is not bad.

The story is that the lease term ran out on Whiteways and that the Norfolk estate plans to refurb and reopen and keep the free parking. Whether it actually happens....

I thought it was quiet there when we've been past and just put it down to rubbish weather.

(I thought the place was ok and, importantly, the bogs were reasonably well looked after).

When I was on the tools travelling Sussex, by far the best grub stop was on the A27 Ashcombe roundabout near Lewes. Huge bacon butties, tiger bread rolls etc.

Billys on the Beach has changed ownership. Its still ok, but not quite as good as it was.

Oh, and it's now just called "The Beach" iirc

Surprised that Tulley's Farm near East Grinstead isn't on there. Decent breakfast, plenty of parking (though the car park is gravel and on a slope). Clean toilets too.

When I was last at Loomies (October last year) I noticed there's a Caffeine & Machine at the other side of the crossroads. Supposed to be quite good in there.
