Old lids
Did I make up or have I read that places like the Fire Brigade take them for training?
Gonna get rid of my old lid but before I lug it thought I'd check if it might be useful in some way.

Re: Old lids
Some do, some don't.
You'd have to contact the local station. I think the ambulance service sometimes want them for training too.
You could make a nice hanging basket out of it :p

Re: Old lids
Paramedic stations and some fire stations like them for training in removal as well as cutting them off. I know Bemsee love them for rescue training as well although they aquire quite a few from crashed racers who then donate their trashed lids for training use.Supermofo wrote: Fri Apr 22, 2022 2:50 pm Did I make up or have I read that places like the Fire Brigade take them for training?

As KFB said they make novelty hanging baskets which we have at the front of our training school

Re: Old lids
Give the liner a bit of a clean; last time I did helmet removal (with the Fire Brigade) some of them were a bit choice (tacky to the touch and a bit malodorous). Cast your mind back to school when you had to borrow gym kit because you'd forgotten your own.

Yeah I took the lining out and washed it when I got my new lid, it's been in a cupboard since.dayglo jim wrote: Sat Apr 23, 2022 7:50 am Give the liner a bit of a clean; last time I did helmet removal (with the Fire Brigade) some of them were a bit choice (tacky to the touch and a bit malodorous).
