right, ever since moving in to our house, if we knock the pipe work under the sink, the smaller left hand side leaks water from the pipes.
a quick re position sorts it until next time, and TBH I can't be bothered and want to sort it,

I've taken it apart and the cowboy that fitted it has cut the pipes slight too sort, so I need new pipes, ive had a quick look around and can't seem to find what I need. I can't find the brand of the pipe, any help would be greatly appreciated.

My first impression is that the rubber gasket on the LH pipe should be inside the the fitting rather than outside. The RH pipe looks right, the LH looks wrong.

the LH gasket was just put on, been to wickes and got the wrong size.
I am looking to replace the LH pipe with something

The electrical sockets are a bit close to watery stuff for my liking.

would replacing it with this be the best option???

OK, but from the difference in visible thread depth between LH and RH, it would appear that the LH side is missing its gasket. This would give rise to the symptoms you are seeing. Is a gasket of the right size available, or would it not be possible to cut the wrong size gasket down to a suitable size?

Is that the pipework supplied with a Franke sink? It looks very similar to what we had supplied with a Franke double stainless sink. Their preferred method of connection looked so insanely complicated and prone to leaks and poor drainage that I just slung it all away and went for the simplest possible means of connection.

I am in a new build and that's what was fitted, I took the pipe to my local plumbing place to get replacements and he said its just for the sink so did have it,

ive tried different size gaskets, the pipe needs to be another 1/2cm longer.

When you buy a new sink, all the required plumbing parts should come with it, but I don't believe the individual parts are available to buy from plumbers merchants. Do you know what make of sink it is? If so, perhaps look on the manufacturer's web site and see if individual plumbing parts are available.

Using Franke as an example, this is a kit that they can supply. I doubt Frankely if they are available as individual parts, but...

As long as the pipe sizes match (i.e. the waste pipe that goes through the wall is the same as the new pipe) you should be OK. I'd measure the waste pipe o.d. and compare it to the one you're thinking of buying. Don't throw the old pipework away until the new pipework is in and working properly...

Which looks like it's supposed to do all that the arrangement under your sink does. Is your pipework 40mm?

Never throw old pipework away...add it to the 'you never know' pile in the garage.

That seems to be a 'like for like' replacement, and McAlpine stuff is good in my experience...

It looks like the length of that pipe isn't your only problem, it's at an angle (both sides are) as the horizontal part is also too short. Normally you can turn the trap slightly to compensate but they only fitted one trap for the whole system.
Fitting a trap there might be all you need but I'd buy a new elbow at the same time just in case. Plumbers merchants are usually helpful people, take the short pipe down and ask for a trap plus an elbow that size.

I don't like the power socket there, it should be somewhere you can safely switch off an appliance when there's a leak. Your RCD should prevent loss of life so not as bad as in the old days.

I can't find what I'm looking for in Screwfix, might be why they bodged it. This could be a better bodge.

+1. Replace the whole lot is the best approach. Different manufacturer's parts rarely play nice with each other. Your current setup looks like it's been forced to fit rather than fitting properly.
