Old Simonsen toolboxes...

I just went from zero cantilever Simonsen boxes to two. Always liked them, I look online once in a while & last week two showed up that "need work".. but they were cheap, as in about $50 for both of them. Cantilever boxes like these aren't too popular in the US for some reason.
This morning a HUGE box shows up. I'm thinking, jeeze this is well packed.... & mysteriously heavy..

So I open it up & discover I had bought both boxes from the same guy, didn't even notice that when I clicked *buy*

One needs some tin bashing & the other needs a new latch (it will be getting two). The dents in one looked a LOT worse on Ebay, but are fairly minor in reality.

Both need minor rust mitigation & fresh paint. Probably going to do the vintage military look (OD green with flat black fake *patina*)

I have an old Facom metal toolbox, sort of half cantelevered one with rounded corners that could do with a bit of tinbashing.
Plus another I can't remember the maker though..
Bought from my local bloke with a shedfull of random gear.

Drilled the handle off the worse one & the two rivets holding that half of the top & commenced tin bashing.

WooT! Found a doodad for squeezing semi-tubular rivets that fits my aircraft rivet hand squeezer :)

Latches showed up, rivet holes match so that was a bonus. Just need the right size rivets.
