Is your garage your happy place?

Mine most definitely is, I spend plenty of time in there. Today was 4 hours doing little jobs, niggly things on MTB and then another hour or so on the bike riding in the garage. Apart from the fact it's not double the size, its ideal.
Beer fridge, tools, bikes, etc
It's only the fact it's not that warm which means I'm not in there right now. I'll do the next job tomorrow and get my little garage fix.

If anyone wants a beer fridge to help them make their garage a happier place, let me know. (It's a propane gassed, half height, glass-fronted one so I could skip it as it's not full of chlorofluoro stuff but it works just fine and it would be a shame to throw a working fridge in a skip).

Yes, and the workshop and other sheds. I flit between them and the kitchen for mugs of tea and food. The food isn't usually in a mug.

When it's not freezing cold temperatures,then yes I enjoy spending time out there fixing things which aren't broken,etc.
It has a sink,hot and cold running water,a radiator,plenty of sockets and a fridge. It also has a dartboard,used when I can get a victim to play with me,but I don't mind a few solo games anyway.
It's still a work in progress,as there's one wall racking full of Mrs.Skub's late mother's craft work supplies,but it'll be sorted sometime when she's ready. It doesn't really get in my way,if I'm honest,but I'd have no bother filling the racking with bike stuff!
It's not the biggest,so two bikes is comfortable,any more than that and I'd have to juggle positions if I want to work on any of them.

Pretty much yeah.
Having said that, i could always do with more room, so I'm tempted to trim my workbench down a touch, it's currently 1m x 2.2m, and i really don't use all of it....

Even when frustrating, it's still mostly that... As when i'm being frustrated i've got beer and music at the same time.

Horseshoes are upside down. All the good luck will fall out like that.

This is something that just isn't happening in mine. I need space to work on multiple MTB at the same time, well, not exactly the same time. But enough space to do one, then the other... I'm already slightly pushed for that now with 5 bikes in there. I also do indoor cycling in there which is another bike on the floor ready to go.. So if i start sticking MORE in there, it's getting silly.

I could really do with some kind of work bench with a vice, I have a small vice, but nothing to put it on.
I might try rearranging stuff, see if I can free up some space.
My garage has a boarded out loft, I could hide more shit up there.

No. It's not connected to the house or power. So it's cold, damp and occasionally had rats/mice in it. If it had power/heat then maybe a different story but as it is it's just a storage area that beats having a bike under cover.

According to this superstition, ends pointing down simply means that the good luck is able to flow out and surround the home. If the horseshoe is hung over a doorway with ends up, it will catch good luck. Hung over a door with ends down, it will let the good luck spill over the door and stop evil from entering.

What happens when an ends up one fills up with luck? Does it overflow? Does the luck go stale? If you turn it over too quickly does all the luck spill out at once? Can you control the speed of luck falling by angling the shoe?
How long to they take to fill up and empty? Could you have one that slowly rotates thereby filling and emptying on a regular basis?

Yeah. Love my garage. Designed it how I wanted it then had it built.
8.5m X 4.5m.
Room for 5 bikes and a carpeted work area.
Huge bench with decent vice.
And a clothes/dressing area
And spent a fair bit on decent tools. It's nice to start a job knowing I've got what I need.

One of my main priorities when buying this place was a decent sized garage & if I ever move again it will remain a priority!
Since I re organised things It's not as crowded as it looks in the photo,it's 2 single garages,one built onto the front of the other.
The biggest improvenent I made this year was moving the door further along on the left from where the window is,now on sunny days I can get the bikes out & onto the patio for cleaning etc.
I've got electric in there but no heating,if I upgrade it I'd be tempted to knock it down,rebuild in block,new roof & just make it a more pleasant place to spend all day in.

I'm happier in my cabin.
The garage is cold and windowless, the cabin is heated, carpeted, insulated, double glazed and has wifi....if it had a loo and shower I could happily move in each spring/summer*.
Can't get anything heavier than a bicycle down there to do any spannering...which is another plus.
* you can use it in winter but the garden isn't as nice to look at.
