I have botched together a repair for my man-shed door - but effectively the bottom third of the door is rotten - so it will be less time consuming to replace.
The outhouse it goes onto probably dates from 1930 - and the door hinges are mounted on "pins' solidly in the masonry.
The current hinges will probably not survive very long - so ideally I need to replace with new ones

I would like to use the system with the pins ( it is as you would mount a gate)
What sort on hinges do I need and where do I get them from?

(google, when prompted by garden shed door hinges point me to things that need to be screwed into a frame. I want to be able to lift the new door and hinges onto the pins)
Anyone got any knowledge ?

It appears that the door is approximately a std size at around 1900 x920 mm (so it will be tried if needed) and can be bought from shed door suppliers

You'd only need half the hinge - obvs and these are probably too small but the terminology might help.

The next challenge is I thought I could source a shed door - they they only go to 918mm width. I need 990mm wide.

Yup. Must be one of the easiest things to make if you have a saw, either manual, circular or jig.

Find a place that actually makes sheds and ask them if they'd do it. They'll have pre-treated materials. There's one in Ripley, near J10 of the M25 but you should be able to find one locally. We've got an old fashioned joiners nearby too but they do compexticated stuff like custom window frames etc so might not be interested in simple jobs...dunno.

Depends how fussy you are about a shed door, basically you make a frame and then fill it in, I did one without too much hard ship, but it isn't pretty.

If you make your own door you can specify the timber that goes into it. I built a shed door about 7 or 8 years ago from T&G western red cedar as it's highly resistant to rot. I only wanted to do it once, so spent the extra on some decent timber. You will probably need to seek out a specialist timber merchants though, as it's not the kind of stuff that B&Q stock.

Can you not just buy a pre-hung door to fit the rough opening? (& cut off the pin doodads) I bought a 6 panel steel faced door for mine from Stanley (the company, not Laurel). Pop it in the hole, shim for plumb, fasten to structure, fit trim, done.

If I tried making a door I expect the parts would cost more than buying one already made.

I was like that. My issue was sawing up and down rather than an angle across the wood following a line. Changed the way i saw and now i use a manual saw just as much as my Jig saw. Also when sawing dont force the saw, let the saw do the work, you are just driving it.

What's wrong with the door-halves of the current set of hinges? Can't you pull those off the existing door and re-use them?

He mentioned that they probably wouldn't last much longer. Probably suffering from Rustudter Bugri virus.

They are rusty with decades of induced droop ...
