Buy a pair of J bars for the roof rack, canoes are quite easily deformed by too much tension on the straps.

Re: What have you done today thread?

Started the process of exchanging my UK driving licence for a German one. Very simple but I'll lose the small lorry and coach entitlements, I'd need to have medicals, both here and in the UK. I don't see a circumstance that I might need to drive a small lorry as an amateur.

Re: Music player for the car

It sounds similar to mine. What I've done is load all my music onto a USB stick and then prefixed a random number to each file. That's done by a small program running in Linux.

Could be. I'm usually not in a rush and the traffic is very light so not much need to overtake. The occasional pushbike, tractor or Simson moped(Faahsands of 'em).

Re: Ozempic and suchlike...know anybody on 'em?

Now comes the fun of trying to keep the weight off. As I mentioned before, in the course of a year I've lost over 25kgs, that's about a 1lb per week. A changed diet and lots of physical work, stress helps quite early on too. I haven't been this light since the late 1980s,

I probably shouldn't add anything,but it's the interwebz innit. :P

I don't care about food, other than it's fuel to keep you alive,so the least amount of time wasted, the better. The whole preparation and clearing up all for 15 minutes eating time, wears me down. Part of the reason I hate Xmas,it's ...

I'll try to remember on the way back from work tonight. If I can find my compass, or download one I'll take a bearing on direction too.

Patched road surfaces as camouflage

What research is there on this? I ask as one my local roads has been patched, very well, it's still smooth, to the extent it looks like a monochrome Mondrian. Tree lined and gently undulating, it's mildly challenging to spot small dull coloured vehicles at a distance.

Too many to list. But then I've not lived in a city since 1988 and most of my holidays have been going to various cities.

The standout on for me is the Schwebebahn in Wupperthal. I've been twice now, both detours while nearby. https://schwebebahn.de/en

Re: FRiday thread... the wet June start...

An enjoyable afternoon. Quite a big event I think, not just local riders, there were teams from places a few hours drive away. Lot's a newish vans with awnings, caravans etc.. A good age range for the spectators, from small kids to old giffers. Three ambulances at strategic points, they got some use ...
