Re: Dishwashers, yay or nay ??

I use mine everyday regardless of how much is in there, worse case every 2 days. No rinse, straight in. I cook every night, I have tea and coffee stuff, and lunch stuff if ive been working from home.

My last house I worked out the dishwasher used 7 litres of water which is less than running the tap ...

Re: The heating test

I decided to remove the living room and dining room radiators two weeks, just before the temperature dropped. So it'll go on when I get round to replumbing that. So another planning success

Re: Anyone fitted air con?

I have the portable units and a ceiling fan in my bedroom (and one in the living room shortly once decorated). The fan works great, and once it started getting hotter the air-cons came out. I have the exhaust out of the window through a piece of ply that is sealed to the window frame. Works well ...

Re: Copywriting Jobs

£24k (would be my guess).

Interestingly, regarding AI, the NCTJ says that journalists in jobs using AI get paid more than those that don't...typical figures £38k vs £34k. (No info on experience etc to get those figures or whether they're averages).

AI is coming, might as well embrace it. I've ...

Re: Motorhome stuff. Thoughts, ideas, discussions.

Having had van conversions and converted vans I like them, they have their positive points. We've gone motor home now, A class so comfy as and with a massive boot area. Its definitely a step up from a conversion in many ways. We find we can live in ours whereas with the van conversions we cooked and ...

Wish I could help with some practical insight butI have no experience with larger CNC systems. I have become quite adept with FDM/3d printing and the typical stumbling block when troubleshooting/setting up is operating system and software compatibility issues. I would probably start from the ...

CNC Routers - talk to me

Been on my wish list for a while and am starting to seriously look - anyone got any advice or tips?

I'm looking for a bed size of 1000x800, that should give the scope to do the projects I want, also build my own kitchen (I know I could do that with standard hand tools but that's awfully time ...

Re: Saw tables or...

Interesting thread. I've been pondering what to do. I have a B£Q trade card which means unlimited cuts on sheet material but hardwood ply round the corner is £9 cheaper than the store 10 miles away. And a table saw which I struggle to put sheet through on my own.

So on that basis I went looking and ...

That looks quite a smart 'jalopy'!
It'll do! SWMBO wanted something we could fit into to, that's it.

Long term plan is a proper overlander but that needs to be sorted.

Re: Diesel heaters for a cold garage.

A mate of mine has a diesel heater in his shed, works a treat. He routed the exhaust through a couple of old radiators and then out, and those warm up really nicely as well - might as well use that exhaust heat!

They're also quite lenient on what they will burn, he's diluted old engine oil with ...

Been a while since I did this. Picked up this jalopy yesterday as a current camping option, that'll do till I have a proper overlander sorted. So rest of the weekend is moving stuff from the old van to this one :)
