Anyone who's watched him recently? He won the Dutch GP a couple of weeks ago and has been consistently at the sharp end.

Re: Tracer 9 GT
Found a place, and been accepted today. A little over budget but I can make it work. Great setup, garage etc, and a quiet area. It's about 15 minutes from Congleton, so whilst I lose the MTB from the door(which I'm gutted about) everything will work for me.
Excellent stuff!
As my old man used ...

Re: Tyre pressures
Official Falco pressures are like everything else, 36F/42R but I prefer 32F 36R for solo riding. If I take a pillion its 36F/42R.
KTM specify 2 bar (29 psi) F & R for the 690 Duke, so that's what I use.
And for the LC it's whatever Haynes recommends (I forget every time and have to check).

Re: Tracer 9 GT
Well the house that I was refused insurance on, I've withdrawn my application. I'm not going to give up my bike. Hopefully I can get somewhere sorted soon.
That is absolutely the right attitude. Well played, that man. Keep on looking - you'll find something that works for you soon enough.
The ...

Re: Thread sealer or PTFE tape?
Perhaps get hold of some Gas PTFE tape; it's a lot thicker and stronger than the PTFE tape used on water pipes etc.

Re: Pension stuff, how's it all looking ? HAve you prepared ?
If you qualify for the higher deferment rate and you carry on working after the age the SP becomes payable, you also benefit from not being assessed for National Insurance, which gives a nice boost to your take home pay. I went down to a 4 day week at that point and found no difference in my take ...

Re: Tracer 9 GT
In another blow, as I'm moving house due to my separation, my insurance company won't cover me at my new potential address as it's not garage. Great. If I can't get reasonable cover, the bike will have to go.
That's what front rooms are for. As long as you can get it over the threshold and put ...

Re: Pension stuff, how's it all looking ? HAve you prepared ?
The only way of bumping up a state pension that I know of is to defer it. But you'd have to defer it for a looong time to get to £17k. It goes up by 5.8% for each year deferred. Dunno if that's cumulative. So roughly £700 pa and to add the £5k you'd have to defer by about 7 years.
It used to ...

Re: Indicators not working on Aprilia Falco
Thanks for the update. All you need for circcuit testing is an old bulb in a bulb holder with a couple of flying leads maybe .5 metre long and crocodile clips of the ends. Another useful tool is a metre of cable with a crocodile clip each end for bypassing dodgy connectores etc.
I'm glad the ...

Re: Indicators not working on Aprilia Falco
So is it fixed and what was / were the problem(s)?
Yes, it's fixed and the indicators now work. Neil completely removed the two rear connectors and replaced them with sealed, crimped bullet connectors. He also cut back the cables to the connectors as they were badly compromised. The LH front ...

Re: Indicators not working on Aprilia Falco
The flasher relay is looking less likely at this point, but it won't hurt to just bridge the two pins. Very easy to do, and eliminates it from enquiries.
It's alright asking for advice, if you take it :geek:
My problem was multiple overlapping problems, with one or more problems masking ...

Yes, I did consult Claude. He/she/it just confused the hell out of me and I just gave up on it for months. Nul points to AI and big thumbs up to human with basic testing kit, lots of experience and knowing exactly where to look.

Re: Inconsequential ramblings of an Old Git
OK, time to 'fess up. I've bought another bike. Even though I don't have enough room for the bikes I've already got.
And even though I've already got the same make and model of bike.
It's an Aprilia Falco.
So, to my eternal shame, I still have the Falco that I bought over two years ago with ...

Glad to hear that Bez has escaped relatively unharmed from his high speed off, but he really needs to get out of the crashing habit. As MM noted, it looks like no-one really wants the championship at the moment, or at least are finding novel ways to trip themselves up.
