My better half was surprisingly good about my return to two wheels, encouraging almost (despite what we went through she knows that not riding had forever left a hole in me).
I'm not allowed out on it if I'm in significant pain though as apparently I DLAC when I am. It's a very reasonable condition!

Re: Return to bikes.. how it's going
Excellent, another 900 Duke on the road
Got my monster on the road a week or so back, the first ride was awkward at first, got more instinctive gradually. Needs a good long ride to get back into the groove properly I think.
Good luck with your re-intro. Any plans for trips out?

Re: Bathrooms, towels, how often ?
I can only look on in awe of that level of organisation in terms of towel area specifics.
Wouldn't work in our en-suite as we share whatever towel is to hand (not at the same time, obviously) so I could be rubbing Mrs. G's feet on my face first thing in the morning. Or worse.
You only ...

Return to bikes.. how it's going
So I've had the old Duke back on the road a couple of weeks after winter storage (and it then needing a carb rebuild) and I'm starting to enjoy riding again.
The trip to the MOT station was interesting, hadn't touched the bike since last year but still thought I should be better at steering.. a ...

Re: Bike for a pre-2000 Trackday
The old zx9r I owned twice and went on to be owned by several TRCers afterwards. That thing was bonkers fast and the brakes were surprisingly good after a strip and rebuild.
I replaced it with an R1 which felt like a 600 in comparison.. and not just in stature.
I'd rather a carbed R6 these days ...

"on my face" is a good name for a racehorse if you're at the track and it's being cheered on..

Re: Bathrooms, towels, how often ?
About twice a week for shower towel.
I wouldn't want to dry my face where I'd dried my arse the day before but a clean one every time is wasteful and unnecessary so towel is organised; by the label is arse crack corner, opposite corner is bollocks etc. bit between them is feet. Top end is face ...

Worst case is reaction time to an unexpected event, when 'surprise'* and 'startle'** occur.
* Slower reaction
** Potentially 'freezing'
