Re: What have you done today thread?
Just finished clearing out the garage after months of putting it off. Found a box of old photos I forgot existed. Feels good to actually see the floor again.

Re: Change signature
You usually find it in the User Control Panel (UCP). Look for the "Profile" tab at the top and then "Edit signature" should be right there in the side menu. If it's missing, the admins might have disabled them for your user group.

Re: Wardrobe Build
Building your own carcass is a bold move for a first-timer, but getting the stability right with those upright boards is key.
In our case we looked into doing a DIY build too but ended up going with The Heritage Wardrobe Company because I wanted that professional hand-painted finish without the ...

When sharing a link, mine has stopped working, whats going on.🤷♂️ Android phone and tab.
Say " this site cannot be reach, check connection"
Usually this is DNS or the app adding extra characters to the link. Try copying the full URL manually and opening it in a browser, not the app. Also ...

Re: Where's my bios gone?
Was getting a 'battery low' warning for a couple of weeks on boot up.
Went away for a couple of months and computer wouldn't start up on return.
Put a new 2032 in there, and still we have no life.
Iirc its running xp, no I don't have a boot up disc.
Apart from holding a door open, any ideas what ...

Re: Best Printer Inks?
I've used same place for years, but they're not so good for the new Epson printer.
So where's a good place to buy fake printer inks?
Ta :)
Some Epson printers are picky with compatibles, so quality matters more than price. I switched inks after that issue and used Cartridge Save, prints stayed ...

Re: Online booking / calendar
Hi All,
I will be running a series of short sessions.
They will be:
- occasional
- over a few weeks
- daytime/evening/weekday/weekend
I need to be able to circulate a link.
Then potential attendees can:
- select a session
- enter a few details (name, house number, how many adults/children ...

Re: Cheap laptop needed, any suggestions?
My wife's sister is in the UK for a business studies course, and she needs a laptop for her studies. It has to be cheap (sub £300, preferably less) and able to deal with your average spreadsheet, powerpoint and document usage. AMD processors preferred, as they tend to give better bang per buck ...

Re: New Windows upgrade
As Tech Support I'm getting a bit hacked off that every other radio programme my customer/wife listens to seems to be intent on scaring the bejaysus out of her due to the perils of not moving to the latest processor hungry release of Windoze on her HP mini tower. She also advises that it won't ...

Hard to judge from photos, especially when lighting and angles vary. Old mine cuts can look totally different in person. The second stone seems to have deeper facets, maybe a bit more warmth too.

Respect for the 5am start, that’s dedication. At least your boy can nap through the early hours while you’re driving. Hope the trails stay rideable and you both enjoy the weekend.

That’s a Dacia 1300, basically Romania’s version of the Renault 12 built under license. They were everywhere in Eastern Europe back in the day. Cool to see one still tucked away like this.

Re: Suggestions for cheap car due to MoT fail of current one
I know the thread is from February, but here’s a quick idea: for city driving under £5k, I went with a Toyota Yaris 1.3 VVT-i (chain, no wet belt). Good fuel economy, reliable, cheap parts. I went to MB MOTORS for a pre-purchase inspection and they told me clearly what needed doing right away versus ...

Re: Archiving very old letters - how ?
Acid-free plastic sleeves in ring binders are the easiest. Just make sure they’re archival quality so the ink doesn’t transfer.

Re: Switzerland
If you’re crossing Switzerland in summer, I’d skip the motorways as much as you can. The San Bernardino and Furka loops are proper “bucket list” roads, and the old Gotthard with the cobbles is just fun to ride. You’ll lose time but honestly that’s the point, the views make you stop every few km ...

Re: The journey from small guy to teenager...
We spent the day at FoD with the coach yesterday, it was massively interesting to hear/see the input, thoughts, ideas put about by her. The boy has just seemed to have lost a little edge and within the 4 hours they spent out there his riding was picked apart in really really minor levels of detail ...

Malverns is always a good vibe – bikes, beer and music all in one. Hope the lad smashes his races, and happy early anniversary for Monday – don’t forget to sneak in some time for yourself too

Yeah, that’s rough to watch. If they can’t get the reliability sorted soon, all the pace in the world won’t matter.

Re: Anyone bought a mattress in a box recently?
No box for me. I wanted something a bit firmer with better airflow, so I picked a hybrid and bought it last week from Millie & Jones. It was easy to compare sizes and add bedding in one go, which kept the faff down. Link if you want to browse: https://www.millieandjones.co.uk/
