I picked one up on a sale rail yesterday to check what it was made of. 3 labels on the side seam, all in multiple languages , 2 more in the collar .....and a spare button.

Oh yeah and a 'reduced from' price that you'd have to be to have ever paid.

Washing powder perfume!!

I buy a specific clothes washing powder as I'm ok with my clothes being clean without an added yucky 'perfume' (that just smells of chemicals to me)

Picked up my normal powder the other day and now everything smells of something a chemist in some lab thinks is 'spring' - or something like that

I googled it, the only picture I could find of the label was in a pair of schumacher's A*'s F1 driving gloves.

They should have put a don't crash sticker in his ski helmet.

Long story cut short, I stepped in to help out with my first aid training when a kid had a hot drink spilled on their leg. I grabbed a napkin and ice and applied to the affected area. Reassured both casualty and parents with my best bedside manner. I then get a tap on the shoulder from one of the waiting staff, who handed me a shaker of vinegar with the suggestion that I sprinkle it over the affected area as it helps with burns.

Probably goes back to the days when vinegar (or sometimes wine) was a handy antiseptic. Dilute acetic acid/alcohol would do in a pinch. You'd smell like a bag of chips if it was malt vinegar. Wouldn't have thought either would do anything at all if the skin isn't broken though?

It can be worse with trained first aiders.

At a wedding, hot day, packed church. Lots of military types.Older guy keeled over, I went to check, along with about half a dozen others.

They were almost fighting to get at him. "Put him in the recovery position!" etc. He was conscious, sat down. I left them to it and went to be with his wife.

Luckily ambo arrived fairly pronto.

Years ago a bloke at my gym had an epileptic seizure. I put a towel under his head to save him whacking it on the tiled floor and let the seizure run it's course. It was st this point somebody said he'd go to to reception to see if they had a spoon to shove in his mouth.

The other day my dad, 80s, assured me with a straight face that he and his mate were applying WD40 to their arthritic knees, with remarkable success.

I waited for the punch line.
Nope.

I wish they'd make a version with slightly more lubricating properties though. It's tempting to spray it on things that really need something a bit more oily. (I did have a small can of spray on light grease which was really useful...they left it in the car after a service. Probably used on battery terminals and hinges etc).

Another WD-40 smell lover here, also like the smell of chlorine, and don;t get me strated on 2-stroke smells lol
