Snuck out for lunch and managed to catch sight of an impressive erection just outside of Wells.

Trip to Rye for mussels, scallops and kippers

Worth checking: on many phone cameras, if you touch the screen at any point, it will automatically set the exposure for 'there' so, in the case of towards the Sun, would still show detail of the foreground.chutzpah wrote: Sun Sep 13, 2020 12:23 pm Here's a thread full of lovely photos, and then I come along with my poorly composed photo taken facing into the sun.

@Yambo will be familiar with this place.
Early morning Sunday run, ball freezing at 7.30am,but warmed up nicely about 9am. Roads were empty.

Not my coffee. I only clocked it from the photo, didn't see it at all when I was there!
There were quite a few bikes parked up in Ballycastle, but I just drifted on like the social leper I am.

I'd love to go down there on the bike having stayed in Minehead (not the Butlins) for a week, but it's a loooooong ride for me so would need 2-3 days. Next year hopefully. Having said that when I went to Ilfracombe the car was being blown all over the shop and visibility was about 500m so will make sure I check the weather first!

Up to Stirling, across to Crainlarich then down Loch Lomond to Glasgow then quick blast on the motorway home.
On reflection I should have come back via Stirling. Glasgow in rush hour 2 up on a bike wasn’t fun.
250 miles and I’m knackered.

Sunday was a beautiful day and I suspected the weather would soon break so wanted to make the most of it.
A twisty trip to the coast for fish n chips seemed in order. Delays in the cafe caused me to be late departing and I left (well tried!) West Mersea at 14:45. High tide was 15:03. I eventually crossed The Strood at 16:30. Doh! Turned out it was one of the highest tides of the year.
I didn't mind too much to be honest. The weather was good and I was chatting to some interesting people. It's a phenomenal thing to witness how much the tide in this area rises and falls so quickly! The "road" was blocked before I got to the main estuary crossing which is in the background of the pics. In the time I was there it was probably over 1M rise/fall!

Got out on two of them today, quick hit on the 765, and then getting on for 100 very enjoyable two-up miles on the Multi- bit nippy, but was brilliant .
No pics of the big red bike but this is Nigel having a little rest after a damn good thrashing earlier

I had a run into East Anglia earlier this week. This pic in Orford prompted my wife to ask whether an air bag had inflated on my bike. Actually it's a stone memorial in the background.
