Been quiet on subscriptions.

For the people who post regularly and are not subscribers, can you maybe pm me as to why and what we could do to entice you? Is the forum not providing something in particular?

As of today, non subscribers won't be able to modify their signatures or their avatar. I'm not sure yet if it will remove them if they're set, but new users certainly won't be able to set an avatar or signature unless they subscribe.

May be a touch harsh, but I see them as 'benefits' rather than essentials

It's easy to miss stuff in this section. A sticky heading all the forums would get more opinions!

Nah, not going to beg.

I've had PMs tonight offering financial help and refused as they're already subscribed. The forum is doing ok financially and in a context of content it's exceeded my expectations massively.

I'm a very proud parent.

Not sure i'll go as drastic as the 3 months trial. But i've changed the initial donations post to a Sticky/Announcement now so it's at the top all the time.

Thanks for such a detailed input though it's very much appreciated.

Don't worry about the forum, it's doing fine. It's more a personal pride thing as much as anything that i think people should want to donate/subscribe etc.

That said, i don't subscribe to ALL forums i use, but i do subscribe to the majority. The FZ-09/XSR forum for example i don't... but i do feel it's lacking in information and content, so not bothered. I paid lifetime membership for 2 KTM forums though and of course subscribe to the cycling one i use lots.

I do feel forums can pay for themselves in terms of knowledge, information and even just for passing time. I'm not 100% sure WE are there yet, but we're doing well i think.

There are lots of ideas for goodwill funds, or a trackday fund where we chip in and pay for someone to do a trackday if they want to do one but they're a bit skint, etc. That will make the forum seem like more of a community.

We've had multiple new subscribers in the past week, which means people are either feeling guilty and paying up... Or they're enjoying the site and feel it's worth it..

Thanks for bumping this thread, subbing was something that I meant to do a few weeks back but I've got a concentration span of a gnat and promptly forgot, sorry.

An especially shitty thing to do as thanks to a member here I saved about £200 on a set of 3 brembo brake disks
