On the last few days of the trip we went into France & did the Routes des Cretes in the Vosges mountains which, like the B500, has legendary status but both had a fair amount of tourist traffic. The smart thing to do is find the smallest roads on your map & follow those from one village to the next, you will get to your destination eventually but be rewarded with your own private, well surfaced, open, sweeping roads on the way. Outstanding riding!
For those interested we did a clockwise circular route & stayed two nights Kinheim, three nights in Enzklosterle, one night in Vittel & the last night in Reims. Happy to recommend accommodation or routes if anyone wants them.
Happy days
