Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
This is going to sound a bit silly/morbid/bitter/sad.
Yesterday was/would have been my late father's 100th birthday.
Put a little picture up and nobody commented/liked.
A sad inditement of a life! However he did make Bricktop seem like a personable kind of chap!

Its a sad inditement of social media - often I don't see things like that until two or three days laterDemannu wrote: Wed Aug 09, 2023 11:46 am This is going to sound a bit silly/morbid/bitter/sad.

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
Today was another first in clothing - wore a pair of jeans I think I was given (because I don't think I've ever bought jeans in M&S!). Pretty sure i was given them before I moved here. So that means I've had them buried in the "I'll wear that someday" box/shelf for over 6 years!!
Also means that some of the other jeans in that pile could be wearable soon

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
Checking a guest out a few days ago and after we'd finished she said
"I wanted to compliment you. You're so easy going, you made us totally relax. We're really glad you were our host, You're really good at this job"
Best bit for me was that I didn't give this guest any special attention or anything that I don't do for other guests

Some of the workers on the site next door have been really annoying and obnoxious.

Had a leccy problem which I traced to the basement so had to call an emergency sparky
He traced it to a dodgy socket hidden behind big wardrobe at bottom of stairs.
Much heaving and grunting and problem sorted.
Oooh. 2 hours so we were thinking mucho Euros.

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
Was in Kos last week. After a couple if days I get a text from BT saying that as I'm in Turkey, I've hit my data limit. Looking out on the balcony I suddenly had that 'Eureka' moment (get the Greek ref there, eh?) that my phone is picking up a Turkish network as I can see the Turkish coastline just over the water.
Ring BT to see what to do. Halfway through I manage to cut the nice lady off, but I get a call back straight away, get a refund of what it's cost (which I shouldn't have got, as I did get texts welcoming me to 'Turkey' which i failed to read) and a quick lesson in setting my phone to a specific network (I.e., a Greek one, not a Turkish one) to stay in my package limits.
Can't fault the service I got, so fair play to BT in this instance.

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
Sat on Watford Gap services on a dial in for Elfin Safety. Parked next to me is a NHS van with a big sign saying “URGENT BLOOD”. He’s been asleep, after eating his sandwiches, for over an hour.
Not that urgent then!!
Leave it to the Blood Bikes.
Made me smile.

Mrs. Gremlin on morphine. Picked her up from the hossie and every time the car pulled away she went, 'Neeee-owww!'
She's a bit spaced out.
