The sloes are coming along well, too.
My chocolate lab used to pick his own blackberries
Syd's eats the leaves from brambles. I swear she's a reincarnated cow.

Jack would only eat the fruit, and only the ripe ones. He would very delicately suck the blackberry and if it didn't come off easily he would leave it for the next day

My pool robot.
Makes the porn videos a bit dull*, but cleans the pool lovely.
Crystal clear water with just a hint of liner blue.

*apparently most 80s/90s 'entertainment' videos always started with a pool boy swishing the pool out, so I've been told!

Wasn't Yorick's basement set up as a sex video dungeon - within waddling distance from his pool?

Just saying ... :)

At work this afternoon I was near the walking/cycling bit. It's not really used by the main bikers as it does'nt go where they would want, but lots of kids use it

I watched a little kid on a 'first pedal bike' type thing going past me a couple of times - 100% concentration on his face to the point that he looked proper fierce!!

After a couple of passes, he realised I was there and looked at me. I was already smiling hugely as he was so cute (albeit fierce!) and he looked at me and about a second after, his face broke into a huge smile too :D :D :D

This happened for the next few passed. Fierce little person sees big person grinning widely with encouragement and breaks into a grin himself

Blooming awesome

I applied online for a new passport. You can track the process online, here's the summary so far:

Application history

Passport printed 10:56pm on 31 August 2023
Application approved 4:53am on 31 August 2023
Documents received 8:58am on 30 August 2023
Application received 3:43pm on 25 August 2023
Application submitted 3:42pm on 25 August 2023

Not the sort of efficiency I expected from a government department, I was expecting several weeks.

I like the idea that somebody was working on approving my passport application at ten to five in the morning. :D

They need to find the scissors to cut the corner off the old one too, and scissors are bested only by lighters when it comes to going missing.

New passport arrived today. That's less than a week week from submitting the application on line to receiving the new passport. And Monday was a public holiday.

What is this country coming to when you can't even complain about a government department dragging their heels? :D

Didn't the passport office go on strike for some absurdly long time this year too?
