Guess a lot of people who might buy a CBR650 are buying 750 Hornets instead, they undercut the CBR RRP by quite some margin, probably why Honda are having to discount the CBR's. You'd have to really want a full fairing to pick the CBR.

I’ve had it 2 years, don’t get me wrong I like the MT but it’s not my favourite bike I’ve had, I have been toying the idea for a new bike for a while, the scooters were always at the top end of my budget but did’t really excite me, I looked at these last year (before I wanted a new bike) but never put much thought into them.
I was looking at a used 20/21 with 2/3k on it. And for approx £1000 more I’ll get a brand new one.

They are ugly.

I think the fairing with come in handy on the A roads.
Plus I like the look of the 650

I'm with Bob on this one, RE CBR sales. I'm shite at it, but right now would probably be a good time to put your haggling pants on.

One thing I'd also do though is consider resale of the CBR. Again the Hornet might knock the arse out of it so make sure you get the biggest discount you can now to mitigate that.

I'd too have said that the CBR would be a sideways move from an MT but if it's new shiney metal you're after then fair enough.

On the GSXS 1000 front they did make an older fared one but looks are divisive. I don't have any doubts though that one would blow a CBR650 out the water on every single level other than insurance.

That’s still £540.
On top of tail tidy, phone mount. And a few other bits like crash protection. Starts adding up.plus extra insurance, Plus sorting the MT is costing a few hundred. So £540 is £540.

A new bike was never my goal, could of been nice but not top priority.
Also not made of cash, and where does the topping up stop, another grand or so and I am in 899 panigale territory (I’d have to walk to work)

Sell 102 bikes, get £30k back from Honda as a bonus

What does that mean?

If the same as car dealers, that what they pay might not be what they pay, i.e. the importer set a target of X sales and if the dealer meets it they get a hefty bonus repaid.

Filly bought a 'new' car. It had 20+ miles on the clock. We bought it the day it was put in the showroom, no-one else had even sat in it. For the let-down of being the second owner, almost 10% off list price.

My Hornet was £3999, pre-reg'd... I think list was about £5.2 at the time

I had no intention of buying a new bike but I was driving past Dobles and I'd actually got about 2 miles up the road when a lightbulb went off and I thought "did that really say 4k..."

I turned round, parked up, went in and it did. So I bought one there and then.

Aside from the ride home, it was about a year before I got it out of the garage!

Still got it, 90k on the clock now. Not a bad investment.
