I saw Genesis in Roundhay Park about 1987.
Fantastic but still only loved the Genesis album. The others seemed a bit of self indulgent twaddle.

I could try to think of something more cool but even after 40 years Spotify told me I was in the top 1% of Cocteau Twins listeners
After that probably a kiss in the dream house or Hyena by Siouxsie and the Banshees

Re: What's your all time favourite album ?
Given that I have a wide collection of music which I listen to randomly and love it all, this is a surprisingly easy question to answer:-
T'Pau - Bridge of Spies
It stands out because of the complete originality.
01-Heart and Soul
02-I Will Be With You
03-China in Your Hand
04-Friends Like These
05-Sex Talk
06-Bridge of Spies
07-Monkey House
08-Valentine
09-Thank You For Goodbye
10-You Give Up
11-China in Your Hand-Reprise
Every track a musical adventure that is incomparable to any other pop song I can think of. Anyone who recognises these tracks will instantly recall the melodic tags for each one. Carol Decker's all too fragile voice attacks the songs and wows the listener.

I just played China In Your Hand and whilst the voice is amazing, the band is a bit lightweight IMHO.
A remake with rock band behind would be cool

Fully agree on Dookie, and Smash is bloody brilliant too - those two lived in my oh-so-modern 5-disc CD changer in the 90sKungFooBob wrote: Fri Jan 12, 2024 8:24 pm What is it with American Idiot?
The best Greenday album is Dookie... followed by Insomniac.
Which on a semi-related note has reminded me what a cracking album Offsprings 'Smash' is.
Just like motorcycles, music from the 1990's is the best.
I'm off to see Greenday this year - 30 years since Dookie and 20 since American Idiot

American Idiot was the sound track to my 2nd year of Uni, back when we thought Dubya was the most absurd president possible.

Music from the decade when you were a teenager, maybe your early 20s is the best. That's what most people mean when they say something like that.KungFooBob wrote: Fri Jan 12, 2024 8:24 pm
