The Crazy Uber
I knocked the old work on the head in the middle of last year. It turns out it's easy to start on the Chablis at lunch time, which isn't good. And a bit more money wouldn't be a bad thing. So I filled in the necessary form, downloaded the app and started doing The Crazy Uber in one of the many Priuses we have.
It is a rich seam of anecdotes. Also it turns out if you have an area of high demand and low supply near you you can take £200 a day, weekday daytimes. More if you want to do weekends and evenings but I haven't done any of them yet. I did do NYE, just for the laugh. That was a source of good anecdotes.
No-one has thrown up in the Prius yet, myself included. Apparently if they do, you notify the app and Uber gives you £75 and if you go to a local Poland carwash, they'll sort if out for that. Maybe I should throw some soup on the back seat and see if I can get the money.
I think The Crazy Uber is a noun and a verb. I make The Crazy Uber. I drive The Crazy Uber. I am The Crazy Uber.

You need pics of the crazier customers.
I've never used Uber, or Deliveroo, or just eat.

Re: The Crazy Uber
I don't know if you're meant to take pictures of them. You can set up an inward facing dashcam (for everyone's security and protection!) and I was thinking about that. So maybe I could get pictures. I have a Latvian gymnast / model and her mate in recently, all done up for a night out. She looked amazing. They're not all like that of course.

Re: The Crazy Uber
No sexual contact is allowed. They teach us that at Uber school. Also no refusing someone with a guide dog. And you can't make women sit in the back seats. These are the rules of The Crazy Uber.KungFooBob wrote: Sun Mar 03, 2024 10:38 am yeah, but have you got a hand job/blowie off any of the punters yet?

I was taken a back a little when I was talking to the receptionist at where I worked, and she was telling me she had had a big night out - but had to shag the taxi driver as she didn't have enough money for the fair.MyLittleStudPony wrote: Sun Mar 03, 2024 10:47 amNo sexual contact is allowed. Re: The Crazy Uber
I think it depends on the local council.Potter wrote: Sun Mar 03, 2024 12:26 pm So anyone can become an Uber driver in your own motor?
I have some military driving courses and thought about doing celeb or VIP stuff, my mate (same skillset as me) bought a Range Rover and he takes people to things like court cases and protects them whilst they're there. The money is good and he rarely needs to actually step in to protect anyone.
I had a short spell as a limo driver in MK, no test or licence needed other that a standard DL. I looked at another job in Luton that needed to become a licensed taxi driver, although the limo was actually contracted to a company to deliver staff to places.

Re: The Crazy Uber
You need a private hire licence for yourself and the vehicle. Many people get these from Wolverhampton Council as they offer a very cheap, streamlined service. Many vehicles are acceptable but not all.Potter wrote: Sun Mar 03, 2024 12:26 pm So anyone can become an Uber driver in your own motor?

I do a bit of the old protecting too. I've got a fork in the glovebox which I sometimes use to eat a salad from the supermarket, and I'm not afraid to get handy with it.

Re: The Crazy Uber
I suppose there would be tax implications if you used Gunny, 'cause it'd be deemed not for personal use

Punch line #1. It didn't actually happen to me, what I meant was, it happened to my sister.

Re: The Crazy Uber
I was in an uber a few weeks ago and it turned out he earned more than i do in IT. I am actually quite tempted to start doing some ubering. I have very good knowledge of the south west especially Bristol/Bath and South Glos.
Do you have to fight to get the clients? can you be sitting around for hours sometimes without any fares? can you set your own prices? is there any up front costs before you start ubering?

You could consider finding out how much more insurance would be.
Even bland can be a type of character
