Totally insignificant cos, mostly, it's not even my bike!! BUT, my mate changed the screen on his CBF1000.

I did ask him if he still had the original but he doesn't think so but, in his words "the air hits right in the face with the standard, the after market is better because it goes over your head"

Well, it might if I was the same height as him. But I'm about 6 inches taller than he is. With the after market 'flip up' screen the wind plays a drumbeat on my helmet :( :( :(

The Shoei is quieter than the Arai which I guess is better. Downside is that, whilst it's a better fit (and quieter) I prefer the Arai!! Prefer the colour and the visor :D Mostly cos I couldn't buy a black visor for the Shoei, but at least I have a dark/smoked visor for that :D

Anyway, I'm seriously considering getting an aftermarket original screen for it - cos I'll have it for 3-4 months, so it's probably worth it!   Maybe!!

If you don't take your glasses back to the bar, or your plates back to the serving window in a greasy spoon cafe then you're a lout.

It's a good way to get excellent service the next time you're in.
Dont know where my post went as i answered this. :(

I always take the glass back when in a pub. Only time i dont is when someone is still drinking when i get up for a round. Table was clear when i went in so it gets left in the same way.

Eating depends on where i go. Nice restaurant i tend not to at the waiter/waitress tends to be back and forth taking things between course's. Even the coffee cups tend to get taken away after you pay the bill. Greasy Spoon i will take the crockery back to the hatch/service area. Even when i could eat a McDonalds. KFC the table gets cleared like it was when i sat down

I think there is a big divide between leaving stuff on the table and strewing glasses and bottles around the countryside. Near most pubs you will see glasses left arpund beyond it's precincts.
Yesterday on the front I found three bottles of Corona ( one more than half full) left on the promenade path, as well as cans and fast food detritus.....ok , it was the first really warm evening for ages...but take your shit home, or at least to the bin less than five yards away.

Was in a street bar yesterday, and they had a delivery of huuuuuuge kitchen rolls, which looked like they had to go up a spiral staircase. Only a couple of 'girls' were running the place, so I offered to take them up for them.

Yup. If a place does table service/waiters they'll usually do table clearing. If I have to carry the food or drink to the table I'll take the empties back.

(We regularly have a bite to eat, after a hike, in a sports ground café where you get an order number, they call your number and you pick up your scran at the hatch. I routinely take the plates and mugs back to the hatch. The luvverly lady in the kitchen started bringing our food to the table. :D ).

If there's an area for plates etc to go then I'll probably clear my table. Not always, sometimes you can see it causes confusion. Amusing anecdote from the ferry: I cleared my table despite having the food bought to me. One of the catering crew thanked me and said I didn't need to do it. To my comment that I had not much else to do, their response was neither do I.

I didn't care if someone is paid to do it or not, a bit of politeness is never wasted.

It does cause confusion here cos if I’m in a bar, I’ll always take the glasses back to the bar in between rounds and when we leave. Part of that is that I think it’s just polite but also I’ve always worked in bars and run pubs, so it just feels right!

But it’s just not the norm here! Appreciated but not always understood 🤣🤣🤣

Yup, that.
If we all take our glasses back and clear our tables, they'll stop employing people to do it !

BMP This week.

I've just arrived at my new campsite for the summer. The campsite is great, the live mobile is great, the weather is fantastic. The Wifi doesn't reach the live area and the data phone signal is really poor too !

I currently have my phone outside, while I sit inside with the laptop tethered. Its OK for this and emails, but Youtube last night had to be paused every 5 mins to download a bit more!

I've ordered a signal booster from Amazon, so lets see how that works out !

2. I don't clean the table for them :)
3. Many uk pubs are struggling to get enough staff

I went to the valley and visited a really good butcher for meat to make sausages. Also bought a joint cos I've not had a roast for blooming ages. Went to another shop and got some potatoes and carrots (got other veg in the freezer!)

Got home and realised I've got no gravy granules or gravy powder :( :(

Gutted :( :( :(

I know I could probably make some gravy from scratch, but I actually like gravy granules gravy :( :(

Staying at the in-laws to look after the dogs for the night, just gone to make a sandwich.

I'd forgotten that MIL was a butter miner.

The practice should be outlawed.

You should use your knife to skim it off in lovely smooth layers, not jab massive holes in it.... and don't get me started on the toast crumbs!

White gravy?????

TBF, if I was doing a big roast for a load of mates, I'd be far more willing to make gravy :D But just for myself, well, I really need it to be quick and simple!!
