The Trough of Bowland is probably one of the most beautiful places in the UK,
One of my favourite places on the planet & it's less than a hour away

Last week my mates & I were commenting about this. It's just not been happening this year.Supermofo wrote: Tue Jul 09, 2024 8:19 am This 'summer' is definitely curtailing my riding and not only me judging by lack of riding posts generally.
If I hadn't of done 650 odd miles to the West country last month my riding mileage this year would be rubbish. As it is it's still bad compared to normal.Bustaspoke wrote: Tue Jul 09, 2024 8:38 amLast week my mates & I were commenting about this. It's just not been happening this year.Supermofo wrote: Tue Jul 09, 2024 8:19 am This 'summer' is definitely curtailing my riding and not only me judging by lack of riding posts generally.
IF we had a decent Spring I would have been camping in Scotland in May,it never happened, also we still haven't gone to mid Wales for a few days camping we've hardly had a 3 day dry spell all year.Yesterday around here waslovely & sunny but it's blowing a gale & lashing down again today.
On a bit of a tangent,I should have been in France & Belgium in late May & June but I got Covid a couple of days before I was due to catch the ferry![]()
I'm now pinning my hopes on a good Autumn like we had a couple of years ago.

The 21st? 10 daysZRX61 wrote: Thu Jul 11, 2024 5:30 pm Next scheduled ride is the 21st. Temps will still be around 110deg, so bugger that idea. I'm gonna show up, but in the F350.
It's been over 110deg for the past week. Forecast for the 21st is 108.
I'd have to emigrate to more temperate climes.ZRX61 wrote: Thu Jul 11, 2024 6:05 pm It's been over 110deg for the past week. Forecast for the 21st is 108.

That's the thing, I'm a bit of a fussy bugger. Ideal riding temp for me is 15-25c. I need to find somewhere that's those temps 9 months of the year with not loads of rain and I'd be laughing. Above 25c is too hot for bike kit, that's shorts and flip flops weather.
I know the perfect place. 25c here today.Supermofo wrote: Fri Jul 12, 2024 1:01 pmThat's the thing, I'm a bit of a fussy bugger. Ideal riding temp for me is 15-25c. Take it as a win, though you've automatically been docked points for the pic omission.Supermofo wrote: Sun Jul 14, 2024 12:33 pm No pics as the weather was forecast for showers from 11 so I didn't waste time for pics. Lovely run up to Heybridge, Abberton, Tiptree to Kelvedon for breaky and coffee before home via Chelmsford and the Rodings. Good 115 miles with some warm weather for a change. Hasn't rained yet but lots of dark clouds.
