The purple side panel is actually some blue plastic sheet to stop the tail pack rubbing on the paintwork. Irs a temporary measure and will be removed when I get home

I couldn't picture you with purple glitter. That makes a lot more sense.Druid wrote: Sun Aug 18, 2024 8:34 am The purple side panel is actually some blue plastic sheet to stop the tail pack rubbing on the paintwork. Irs a temporary measure and will be removed when I get home

Re: When/Where/Pics was the last time you rode your bike ?
I got out on my Gen II SV 650 earlier.Yesterday I was at my mate's garage & the Bike mechanic in a unit opposite came over for a chat.I told them both about the couple of non metalic pieces in the oil drain tub & the motorcycle mechanic told me to call round with the contents for a good look.
After having a good look at the pieces he reckons theyr'e road grit,he's seen it plenty of times & reckons Aprilia's are the worst for it.
I ended up going for a 30 mile spin in the sunshine.

It's just been lashing down & the skies are dark,we should have been going to the local bike meet tonight so I'm glad I got out this afternoon. It's well suited to the local back roads
Next decision, which bike to take to the Isle of Man later this week...

When I got home on Sunday I had done 800 miles over the weekend and the tyres - particularly the rear - were way past their best. So today I fitted some new ones

Michelin Road 6. They've had some good reviews, I bloody hope so for £350

I've used a couple of sets now. Good tyres,no fuss, just do their job.Druid wrote: Tue Aug 20, 2024 6:48 pm Michelin Road 6. They've had some good reviews, I bloody hope so for £350
They are dear mind, but mine lasted well too.The rear lasted 5257 just down to a little below the markers and the front was well finished at 9031.
I've never ever had anything approaching those miles from any tyre on any bike.

6000 miles... miserable for a road tyre... how we are being conned.

My previous Michelin Pilot Power lasted almost 3000 miles, which I thought was pretty good

With my recent riding history, 6,000 miles is ten years worth!

Oddly I have ridden my bike every day for the last 7 days - other than today. Mainly trying to get some miles on the old 900 ST

Dodging the showers. With damp patches under trees and a cool 12°C,today has all the features of an early Autumn.

Was hot at home so headed to the big cliffs.
3 pics from same position.
2,000 vertical cliffs where Pen is stood.
