Garage fire extinguishers

Do any of you keep fire extinguishers in your garages? I'm looking for something that would be useful in the event of a small fire but as I keep motorbikes and therefore fuel in there I don't want something symbolic. Thanks.

Yeah, I've got a powder extinguisher.
That it's 12 years old and never been tested probably means it's more of a paperweight than an extinguisher though.

When I stopped racing the 2kg dry powder one the ACU insist you have in your vehicle got bolted to the garage wall.

It's 7 years old now, so like MrLB I've no idea if it will work if required.

I've got a fairly big CO2 one in the garage - it's v old but the gauge says it's still pressurised so it might be ok. The hose is close by if it's no good.

Not a fan of powder as the mess is horrendous.

I used to have a powder one and when it had expired I tried it out outside on a small fire I made. The mess was unbelievable so although they’re cheap I’m not keen on getting another. The powder is supposed to be corrosive as well. Better than a fire obviously but the clean up would be horrendous.

I was thinking about a foam extinguisher as they’re supposed to do class a (solids), b (liquids) and f (electrical) which covers all my bases. The only gas I use are small map burners occasionally that would empty in an instant if they were damage and inert gases for welding.

Spray pattern from one here left rust stains on concrete after it got wet.

AFFF extinguishers are being phased out due to some of their ingredients.
