1000's of faces to chose from, that's a bog basic included one, I can't be doing with too many complications, and with multiple screens / tiles you really don't need them on a smart watch

Difficult to get the colour showing on this, it's a dark metallic olivey green.

Stlying cues from a Panerai

I use a Huawei smartwatch with a lovely Panerai face when we do sailing shit, I keep looking at buying a Panerai but seems a bit of a waste.

How often has it been serviced?

Twice in the 15 years I’ve owned it. I bought it from a jeweller in Norwich in 2009 for £1200. I know it seems silly, but it makes the most beautiful sound with its “tick”, sounds so much more alive than my everyday Omega Aqua Terra.

Twice in the 15 years I’ve owned it. I bought it from a jeweller in Norwich in 2009 for £1200. I know it seems silly, but it makes the most beautiful sound with its “tick”, sounds so much more alive than my everyday Omega Aqua Terra.

That doesn't see so bad over the last 15 years.
I've read various reports about how frequently to service watches and some just say wear em till they start being bad at keeping time and service them then.
According to some of the people on Youtube doing it Rolex's are nice to work on with lots of bridges instead of not many bridges covering far more pivots with each bridge.

I'd just lose all the pingfukits.
I'll have a go at bunging hands onto a movement and putting into a case but I don't have anywhere clear enough to even try much more, fire one teeny spring off and I'd be snookered.
Adding the secondhand will be the most awkward bit but if I knacker it up I'll just buy another secondhand.

My wife has been doing some jewellery repairs for people and adding inserts to expand gold rings and with one of them she dropped the little bit of gold she later added in to make it bigger. Took quite a while to find it under her bench.

Its in and gone back to a happy customer now but as rings get worn they get thinner and so the part to fix in has to be smaller as well so all the shaping to the worn size and shape is more of a faff.
I've got to convert a bit of furniture into a new bench for her before long, I know the things I'm better at.

Newer Rolex (2017 onwards) are now every 10 years due to advances in lube tech

Strewth! Haven't watches got BIG! It used to be that the watchmakers art was miniaturisation. That nice old Rolex up there ^^^^ looks about the right size (and reminds me that my brother bought a new one, must be 60 years ago, hmmm....wonder if he still has/uses it?).

One or two of those posted reminded me that the horologist that services my clocks has some nice old fob watches for sale. (I quite fancy one but I'm not going to start wearing waistcoats again ).
