Similar here. We started using Hello Fresh on the middle of last year for a few reasons (really must try Gusto etc too), having tried the intro free box a few months before.Mr. Dazzle wrote: Sun Jan 12, 2025 11:20 am Because someone presents me with a list of 20-30 dishes to choose from and then 2 weeks later all the stuff I need to make them arrives.
I'm fully capable of looking through the Internet, finding dishes I want, going to the shop and buying all the ingredients (and then having various things left over because you cant buy only 7g of gochugang etc) and then making them.
I just don't want to.
Honestly the main one was because I used to do all of the cooking, and while Muz is perfectly capable of cooking, he doesn't like cooking 'repetitive' food, and CBA to plan.
When I was due to start my new job and asked if he'd take on a bit more of our life admin, he said he'd take on most of the cooking if we got Hello Fresh. Deal made.
This way, as Dazzle says, you get to choose from a wide range of meals, so can have something different almost every time; the instructions are there to follow; and you get sent precisely the right ingredients, so there's no food waste. Plus, he now cooks most of the time
Surprisingly as an added bonus, despite it looking more expensive on the face of it, we now spend less on food shopping (including the Hello Fresh subscription obvs).
