I'm fully capable of looking through the Internet, finding dishes I want, going to the shop and buying all the ingredients (and then having various things left over because you cant buy only 7g of gochugang etc) and then making them.

I just don't want to.
Similar here. We started using Hello Fresh on the middle of last year for a few reasons (really must try Gusto etc too), having tried the intro free box a few months before.

Honestly the main one was because I used to do all of the cooking, and while Muz is perfectly capable of cooking, he doesn't like cooking 'repetitive' food, and CBA to plan.

When I was due to start my new job and asked if he'd take on a bit more of our life admin, he said he'd take on most of the cooking if we got Hello Fresh. Deal made.

This way, as Dazzle says, you get to choose from a wide range of meals, so can have something different almost every time; the instructions are there to follow; and you get sent precisely the right ingredients, so there's no food waste. Plus, he now cooks most of the time👍

Surprisingly as an added bonus, despite it looking more expensive on the face of it, we now spend less on food shopping (including the Hello Fresh subscription obvs).

Sounds like "food done by Lego". As a complete kitchen numpty I can see the appeal.

Today I affixed an extra layer of security in my shed/workshop, (a Shed Shackle);
I fitted a new double plug to the wall and wired it in;
I moved the dehumidifier and fitted a tube so it drains outside the shed;
I pulled the Ed80 off the ramp so I could use the ramp as a workable for:
I replaced the broken handles on my Ryobi electric mower;
And, I started dismantling the Mount field to repair the snapped clutch cable, but then discovered it's an absolute pig of of a job.

So, came in and had a cuppa.

Now soothing my tattered nerves in the tub. :obscene-drinkingcheers:

It's all built so someone who's not cooked before could do it....although they do actually have a few dishes which are billed as more complex with a small cost premium.

As above, I generally just read the card once and do it myself cause they're all fairly simple.

I quite often don't follow the instructions precisely cause you can tell its been "dumbed down" for the sake of simplicity/fitting on the card.

Them instructions are dumbed down enough for me to follow 'em so I reckon anyone can, now I just wish they'd pull their finger out and send cards with the single meals rather than having to piss about with the app

Two good services. Had a young student who came to us last year, heavily pregnant, just been made homeless by her partner walking out on her, so had to get her in touch with services and housing team. She is now safely accommodated and a mum to the beautiful little girl! She asked me if would be happy to Baptise her child, so I've booked that for end of Jan during our main service. Great joy. Got to hold the precious bundle whilst still fully robed in vestments (like I care).

Yesterday I had two couples come to talk about being married in my love 13th Century church, and one wedding is on Friday 26th June and the other on Saturday 27th June, both in 2026! Fabulous!! Both couples so much in love and wishing to make that wonderful commitment.

One who forgives an affront fosters friendship, but one who dwells on disputes will alienate a friend.

Thumb and forefinger either side, push and gently squeeze. Oh and you might want some tissues and wet wipes :obscene-birdiedoublered:

Mother-in-law has been ill for a few days. She has dementia and struggles to describe whats wrong but has a pain in her side/stomach and had stopped eating and is sleeping all the time. My wife and f-i-l took her to Doctors today and they say its gastric but have taken bloods and put her on some tablets and are confident all will be okay subject to BT results.

Whilst they were on their way to Docs, my step Dads rehab place rang to say they've called an ambo as he has slurred speech and his face is drooping. 2 hours later my Sister text to say he is in A&E and its not a stroke but a TIA and he has apparently cured himself. :crazy:

Anyway, it looks like the day is ending better than it started! :thumbup:

Day off. Been to Crosby Beach to see the iron men, and briefly visited Albert Dock in Liverpool.

Shamefully I'd never been to Liverpool before. And while I still haven't been in the city centre, at least I've made it through the Mersey tunnel now 😆

We did the trip through the tunnel twice in December - a first for most of us and the first/second time in years for me.

Liverpool is actually great now, best it's been for ages. Bold Street & aroundabout is really good, loads of choice of food & bars.

I've been meaning to go for ages. Might do a mini-city break thing there to get the full experience. Minus the Beatles stuff, which isn't my thing 😬

I don't know what it's like these post Covid days as unlike the government of the time I stopped social drinking.However before the Covid lockdown I would be in Liverpool every Saturday & the occasional Sunday,it really was a good city to go drinking in.

Yesterday, after 10 days of some godawful chest congestion issue I finally saw the Dr. Bronchitis... bugger.
He prescribed 3 meds, one of which was a fairly potent antibiotic.

Had to take a double dose today to kick it off.

It may not have done anything for my bronchitis so far, but by christ, it sure as hell cleaned out my digestive tract about an hour ago.

Reinstalled baseboard & some molding owing to a minor water leak last week. Leak was from the bath/shower tiles. I haven't fixed the leak yet, but I did tape it up to stop it leaking into the wall.

Eight month i gave a Mountfield. Heap o shite and went back to B&Q mowers for a mower that does what it is meant to do. Cut grass and chuck it into the hopper rather than leave a line of it along they lawn. Had it advertised for 50 quid last summer and not a bite.
