The season is here at last! WSB Round 1 - Phillip Island

Post by Tricky »

Seems to have been a long winter, for me anyway, not helped by my temporary forced lack of exercise and housebound-ness :(

Anyway- Good to see Toprak got away with what looked as though it could have been a nasty one from the pics, unfortunately, Jonny didn't, which is a great shame as he did seem to have found some more and was pretty upbeat- will be interesting to see who gets his seat while he's away.

As for the rest of it, the highlight for me so far is seeing Ryan Vickers going what well on a completely new bike to him, straight out of the gate- WSB needs some new British blood in it so am hoping he has a decent week-end, which would basically mean top 10 in my book

As for the sharp end, much as I would like to see Scotty do well, I don't currently see him up there, and reckon it's most likely going to be Bulega and Toprak fighting it out again, perhaps with Alvaro and Loca up there too, and Alex as the dark horse for a win.

Final practice times here

WSP is not quite as interesting for me at the moment, but I'll be watching and rooting for TBA 🤞🏻

Rock and Roll. 8-)

Lots of sub plots on the grid and I hope the racing stays interesting. I wonder how the Bimota will perform,Lowes and Bassini don't seem far off in testing, but now we'll see for real. Iannone needs to perform this year,as does Redding.

The Sky box is set,so bring it.

Will set up the multiple records on the Sky box and see which one fails, must get the most out of this season before it gets locked away on a pay channel

Scratch that, it looks like it's already left Eurosport, so I'll not be watching.

A Tenner on Amos.
Might be a bit of rain on Sunday, a pound each way on Vickers if it does.

I see Redding is still a backmarker 😂😂😂

Saddened by the lack of new upcoming talent. Most sports have a youngster blast on the scene each year or at least every couple.

This seems to be the same bunch for the last 5 years

Vickers is going quite well. A big jump for him but he’s showing promise….until I just Jinxed him.

Some great racing here this morning, especially in WSS.

Well worth a watch.

I wish.....no,probably just a combination of my sleep-addled brain and poor command of the English language  , also conscious of the need to not be a spoiler as to the results.

Gone to TNT sport and also lost on the Discovery plus app unless you pay for TNT so all i saw of Race 1 coverage was a 5 minute you tube highlight video

Nah, it's dead to me, as I suspect will MotoGP as it sounds like the highlights are going to be well trimmed down if any are shown at all.
It'd run me £29 through Sky, and then how do I not justify paying another £20 for the F1 which I enjoy just as much, all on top of £40 a month for the Sky package, it all adds up and isn't worth it to me

As in Motogp,we have a Ducati lock out.

Toprak wasn't too pleased with his bike in race 3,I bet there was some strong language behind those swiftly pulled down shutters.

As they always say you should never take too much away from PI and tbh Toprak has came away with more points than he had at this stage last year so he needs to just breathe relax and see what happens at the other tracks, the ones where he knows he is strong.
