The Volvo might be too sensible so in no particular order:
Subaru Outback, ace in every respect except spares prices
Daimler Double Six, gorgeous but nearly bankrupted me
Sierra XR4x4, quick and spacious
Skoda Estelle, hilarious especially racing a Mexico and beating it
Capri 3000GT, god I want another so bad

I have just been reminded that used to own an Allegro Vanden Plas.
A poor mans Rolls Royce.
It had wood everywhere, leather and best of all picnic tables that folded down from the rear of the front seats which were ideal if you got caught in wretched traffic jams. You could simply pull over to the side of the road, pour a glass of Port or Brandy to calm your nerves, light up your pipe and enjoy a good shag (Kendal number 37 dark shag tobacco being a favourite). It was compulsary to have to wear a cravat and tweeds so wherever you went, you arrived in style both in clothing and in transport.
I miss getting dressed up to go out for a drive these days.

Had it just over 7 years from new and still runs like new. Never had any problems.
It's amazing off road and runs on dirt roads as happy as tarmac. Great 4WD system with diff locks and proper suspension. And super low first gear for tricky steep stuff
Perfect for island life where no long journeys but lots of dirt paths to play and explore.
Can't think of a car I'd rather have here. If we'd bought an expensive 4WD we wouldn't have dared do some of the stuff we do as too scared to scratch it.

We thought it would only last 5 or 6 years but it's still fantastic. Good for many years yet.
With huge boot which is good as we do lots of airport pickups ;)

And always does 50+ MPG

And all for £15k new.

Every time I go out on the dirt bike, I look for new places to take the

It's just a fun car to own :)

I wonder if the Dacia Dusters attract similar attention?

I can well believe that - I had a Citroen BX GTi for half a year or so in the early nineties & the seats and suspension were outstandingly comfy.

Not sure I'd have liked it quite as much when it was a few years old though !
I had a BX 17RD which had the non turbo 205 1769cc diesel driving all the various hydraulic bollocks before it even thought of turning the wheels. It was glacially slow but comfy as hell and bulletproof reliability wise. I used it to go up and down to Ballyshannon to see a young lady. Even the soldiers on the checkpoint near the border took the piss when I came into view.

I wrongly assumed these two were eye candy / wank fodder for the Js. But they're very serious street racers and drifters. Renowned in their prefecture.

You can't really put those horrendous Daihatsus or whatever they are in the same thread.

It's very cool.

Those two drive a Sil-80. A strange hybrid twixt a Sylvia and a 180SX. You probably knew that!

Is that a 2+2 tho', what you really want is the rare shorter wheelbase 2+0?
