Friday thread. Mid MArch, what happened to spring ?

Post by weeksy »

I thought Spring had Sprung, but it was a false one for sure.

Fri. New MTB day, fitting forks into his DH bike after servicing, setting up MTB with new brakes and stuff.
Sat. Not shocking, out on the new MTB :) me and the boy are off for the day.
Sun. Cleaning bike, watching cup final.

Day two of my first aid requalification course and, nice as the bunch of people I'm on it with are, I do have to fear for any future casualties they may come across. :o

Still should be an early finish today, so nice start to to weekend.

Gym tomorrow morning, chores, then a bunch of us are going to a quiz night to raise funds for a friend's female a cappella choir. They usually put on a bit of a show with a couple of numbers and, in fairness, they're bloody good.

Sunday, probably a long dog walk to clear the head but nothing planned.

Well, it might be cold but it's a beaut morning. (Saw the red moon at 5am too).

I suppose the main event this week is collecting wife's new car so I guess I'll be reading manuals and turning off all the audible 'driver aid' irritations.

That'll probably take a couple of days.

Bleedin' freezing here this morning
The grandkids have just been delivered back to their school after staying overnight. After an evening of them behaving like completely turds.
Off into Brighton this afternoon - just to marvel at how Sin City is decaying quickly. Tomorrow - hit the Downs at some stage , Coastwatch in the afternoon.
Things are tempered somewhat with Mrs Moofo having really severe plantar fasciitis - and finding walking difficult !
Sunday - not sure but off to La Choza in the evening

Technically today I’m unemployed as previous role (finally) came to end yesterday, however, they are the gift that keeps on giving and, as far as I’m aware, are still dicking around regarding my FCA reference. I’m awaiting confirmation from the new firm they have everything needed so I can start work on Monday, if not I’ll probably be starting a ‘Can I sue my previous employer for loss of earnings?’ topic.

Weekend to involve haircut, shave, trying on suits and potentially buying a new suit, installing new IT kit, tidying home office, tending to needs of two dogs, and hopefully chilling out in readiness for a hectic week in a new job.

My Labrador, has woken me up in the middle of the night for last two days which means a rushed walk for him to shit, piss or both. 4am Thursday morning, 12am and 4am this morning, all due to him licking / eating whatever he finds on his walks, sea water Wednesday, goodness what yesterday. As much as I dislike being woken at all hours, it is much better than the alternative…

Worked from hotel this morning.

Just finished a very decent cheese toastie in an appropriately named Dublin cafe called Meltdown.

Shall now mooch around the city for an hour or so before checking out, heading to the airport, and flying home.

Not a huge amount of plans for the weekend, but I'll be picking up some strawberry plants from a neighbour, and I need to look at the bathroom pull-cord light switch, which appears to be dying.

I feel for you! Wife's new car bleats at 2mph over limit, and it reads all the 20mph ones too. :(

If it does that and I can't turn it off I'll be calling on KFBs £500 + expenses service!

Today: Took son to the KCC Showgrounds near Maidstone, 2 1/2 hours by public transport. 25 minutes in the car. His teachers inset day. He got a lift home. Walked the dog, wrote two end of year reports. Key I ordered for the cabinet arrived (been locked in the vestry for over a year). opened said cabinet and it has very little useful material in it.... Wrote one sermon and started on the other one. Cooking a nice jalfrezi chicken curry, not too hot (wife won't eat it). About 1 1/2 kilos of chicken in there, so for three days of eating. Beer is chilling in the fridge as well, so in for a nice relaxed evening meal.

Saturday: All day in Diocesan Synod (big church meeting for the Diocese of Rochester). Out at 8.15 and home by 5.30pm all going well. Continue on sermon. Reheat curry.

Sunday: Three services, Banns of Marriage to be proclaimed for a couple, big service in the afternoon for our Churches together in Ebbsfleet. Should be fun! That is about it for now.

One who forgives an affront fosters friendship, but one who dwells on disputes will alienate a friend.

Oh, just to add to the missing spring - it's snowing here!!! Not really unusual for March, but unwelcome if it continues to snow over Saturday!!!!
