Problem printing from a laptop

Post by Wossname »

New problem… it seems that my laptop and Epson printer have fallen out, a couple of weeks ago. When I ask the laptop to print something, instead of giving me an A4 copy, I get an A5 version in the top corner. It doesn’t matter if it’s set to “fit to page”, or e.g. 200% , etc, it’s always the same result - A5.
I can print A4 as normal from my phone, just not from the computer. I’m not very techy, so be gentle with the advice and use small easy words please!

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

The printer might think that only A5 paper is loaded so make sure the paper size is correctly set in printer settings. There may be an option in the print dialogue to preview the print if so use that to see if it uses the whole area. What application are you printing from?

Then again are you sure that what your printing doesn't actually have a large area of white background?

The printer prints anything I want from my phone, A4 included, so I don’t think either of those ideas works, I’m afraid.

The drivers on your laptop ( windows operating system? ) will have different settings to the other devices. Also if you are printing directly from a browser that is likely to be different.
