"waterproof" trousers
I was going to splurge out and buy some nive Dainese ones to go with my jacket as the last few trips abroad we have met downpours. I was looking at Tonale / Tempest 2 / Tempest 3
Then I remembered the issues @formula400 had will leaking stuff.
So far I have survived and kept dry with my EBay goretex RAF trousers - which are lightweight, packable away, etc.
Is there a textile option that are better than these? - I tend to ride in leathers/ armoured jeans - hence overtousers work.

Re: "waterproof" trousers
Every pair I had failed after a while, all under I year (well under I think) that’s jacket and trousers.
What I do now is, I have some RST pro series adventure trousers, they are really good, and if it’s proper pissing down I’ll bang on a pair of those big Oxford water proof trousers over the top, no more issues.
Jacket wise similar, I have a Richa aqua guard over my summer jacket, and never really get wet underneath (unless it’s savage for the whole 16 miles home)
I’ll replace it soon with another Scott ergo Pro, I did have one before but saw the Richa had good reviews and was half the price. That I don’t think I ever had a problem, until the front zip broke, but that was after constant use and a long time

After trying shed loads ended up with jacket / trousers from Scott. https://www.scott-sports.com/gb/en/prod ... 7490001005
Spoke to them at ABR last year and got sizes sorted out. Brill products - fits mint and u wont anything else
Only fault I could find is and not really a product fault is because I wear short riding boots the trousers tend to ride up to the top of the boots. 10 mins with some elastic and the sewing machine and problem solved.
Carry Jacket and Trouser on the bike all the time and they double up as an extra layer when it's dry and cold.

Re: "waterproof" trousers
FWIW I was the same as you. Hood jeans and raf surplus goretex over trousers when riding for work which are superb.
I wear my full a* stuff when out touring or out for the day.

Re: "waterproof" trousers
I spent £300 on some Pando Moto slim fit trousers. Looking at the zips, I’ll need to send em back. I doubt they’ll keep the water out.
I don’t like trains, so need to find a solution. Maybe surplus forested is how I’ll go. I can’t wear cheap oxford overalls as they melt.
