I went onto the auction site earlier looking for a new exhaust system for the GSX. The whole thing will be getting tarted up with new paint, new nuts and bolts (where I can), new hoses etc so I did not want to go down the tatty second hand route. I "watched" a couple of new exhausts and so far one seller has come back to offer me a discount, which looks OK. This is just for the header pipes though. I could be tempted to visit Aliexpress for a new link pipe and exhaust can. New is only £20-30 more expensive than some people want for used and abused ratty looking shite.

If I buy it, it just means that I will have to have plain digestive biscuits this month rather than chocolate ones, and I will only be able to afford a shit jar of coffee. It's a blooming hard decision to make. :?

Just as a bit of a look as to what can be done with the 750 Inazuma here are a few pics of the type of things that people have done to them.
I am just a copy cat!

I think I'd combine one or two things from each of those but.....

....that/those seats have to go!

Probably all of them!

Dunno what it is. The rider's seats look Ok-ish but the pillion seats just look too 'slabby'. Like an afterthought IYKWIM? I know most pillion seats are (and a non-comfy pillion seat was a deal breaker on my purchases  ) but all of them look a bit 'slap a comfy seat on top'.

Hmm... I kind of get what you say. My issue with the looks of the seat is when EFE stuff is bunged onto a Zuma frame, because the wheelbase is short, the rear of the seat just looks too long.
An EFE with a longer swingarm makes the proportions look better (even if the seat is a bit ugly!).

But I am kind of stuck with wanting do do an EFE replica thing. Purely now because of the (stupid buy) private reg plate.

I spotted an EFE with the pillion seat shortened, but even there I am not sure if it is a good thing or a bad thing?

I think the pillion seat has been shortened?

If the bike had kept its original number plate I would have kept the standard tank, fitted some old zed (z1a,z900,z1000) sidepanels and tailpiece,a 2-4 seat and had myself a cheap zed look a like. With a nice 70's original factory paint job I think it could have been cool. But the number plate f*cks things up.

Not mine, but zed panels on a zuma.

Bugger. I like the look of the zed panels on an Inazuma more than I do the GSX EFE panels. Doh!!!!!!!!

This is going on the back burner (again). I have decided that other projects are more pressing and more important.

I need to do this thing.

Image

It is currently stripped down to a bare frame. I have narrowed a modern day GSXR braced swingarm to fit and just need to weld in some suspension rocker arm mounts and adjust the upper shock mount on the frame. I had been going to paint the frame and bodywork a nice candy red (the tank is done, and in the sunshine looks great), but I am having second thoughts. I do have a plan which I will tell anybody who might be interested once I make the start on it.
