Bit late now - but they need to be smeared in grease (preferably silicon based high-temp) to slow down the corrosion that inevitably eats into them. (it's a very common issue on BMWs).
Worth knowing for when the new(er) ones go in though. Ta for that
They're (especially older ones) designed to be fitted to cars, under a bonnet, under lots of plastic covers, where the likelihood of getting wet is pretty low, so on bikes, which are far, far more likely to allow water and dampness to get to the engine head area, they corrode like buggery. (On a IL4 beam frame it's generally not "too" bad - but on a boxer twin it's the worst case scenario).

Ordered something which will either be a fantastic money saver or complete disaster (almost certainly the latter)

I was looking at visors for my Neotec 2 and prices were about the £60 - £70 mark...ouch.

Amongst the sponsored images was one from Temu at £7.10 (including postage). Well I'm not desperate for one so I thought I'd get a laugh and put in an order. What can possibly go wrong?? It's got to be worth £7.10 just as a story to tell my mates alone.

Delivery time is about a week. I'll keep you posted on the results

The odd occasion you do get a little gem from Temu. So my wife tells me as she gets a bag full of shit at least once a month.

Got roped into driving to a plant nursery... which means I will also be digging holes tomorrow.

On the upside, I was bought lunch at The Egg Plantation in Newhall which is owned by a bloke I know from Derby. 110 different omelettes, I had a #35: pastrami & swiss cheese, with a side of taters.

Thank you, but sadly, not "the" new apartment.

I've not hassled the "council" department about the "council" flat (work tends to reduce my brain to mush :( ) - apparently you are more likely to get one if you phone every week!!! so that's on the agenda for once I've moved!!!

But it is a temporary place for the summer - here's hoping that now winter is over I can get hassling and get a permanent place soon

Woke my child by putting 'Guns of Brixton' on her Sonos quite loudly.

I did supplement it with a cup of tea, though. :1

Rode of the driveway and felt the back end feel loose in that horrible, you've got a puncture way! :angry-cussingblack: Dug out the stop n' go repair kit but cant find the new pack of plugs anywhere! Rang f-i-l and he has one of these kits which he incredibly found straight away. One plug later and all is well again! The added bonus I missed a meeting with heads of depts about digital asset management systems. Every cloud and all that!!

Dug holes, as predicted...

Then spent some time cutting back a parasitic plant thing that grows up through some bushes at the base of a cherry tree.

Wife to station, son stayed home as sick. Got the Triumph out and went to the dentist, easier to park. Went and filled said bike with 97RON and then went and booked the MOT for next week. Tested the bits that need to pass and found that the horn is not working. Did some trouble shooting and the wire has melted in half somewhere in above the fan housing. So I've rerouted a new wire and made up new connections, fitted a louder horn and now it all works (for now anyhow!). Walked the dog, then did some cleaning up in the house. Walked dog again, then fetched the wife from the station. Then did some shopping and cooked a light dinner. Now going to do pancakes with the wife which we shall consume with copious amounts of Turo, a Hungarian creamy cheese concoction with lemon zest and juice in it. Yummy!

One who forgives an affront fosters friendship, but one who dwells on disputes will alienate a friend.

Think he's heading for Fort William this week.

Given the amount of time they've got planned up there he'll be McWeeksy by June. :D

I have just tried out my new LIDL lazer leveller toy. I mean tool.
I could not work out why the lazer was flashing on an off, so pulled the instructions out of the bin. :D Now after a press of the button it works great.
For £14 it looks like it will come in handy for helping to lay out pinstripes/stripe lines on paint jobs.
Money well spent. :D
