The BSB season is with us at last- seems to have been a long time coming this year, and it's the most eagerly anticipated race series for me, as I have interest in just about every class, there's a lot of talent there and I have no doubt there will be close and exciting racing

In the Blue Ribbon BSB lot, my money is on Ray and Halsam to win at least one each this weekend, Ryde will be up there and so will Tommy IMO despite his (to date) less than spectacular showing in testing and practice.
I'm pretty sure Charlie Nesbit, Danny Webb, and Josh Brookes will be up at the sharp end too and I wouldn't rule Storm Stacey and Lee-Bob out either.
Alongside those, I'll be cheering Scott Swann and Richard Kerr on too- there is such a deep field of talent in there this season it'll be a big ask for either of them to get near the front just yet, but they are both properly fast lads and pretty sure results will be there as the season progresses.

In Stk 1000 my money is on Mossey for the title this year, but I'll be cheering Dan Brooks and Gareth Roberts on for personal reasons, it'll be tough for them both, particularly Gareth, but I would love to see them in the points.

Supersport, well, I think it's going to be between Kennedy and Stapleford this year, but I would like to see Irwin take it, and absolutely love it if Lee Johnson can grab a podium here and there, and the DCM or Rapid Honda boys can make it up there too

In the Sportbike and F900s there are a few more of my fellow club racers making the jump into those classes, so will be watching those with interest and cheering them on remotely

Anyway, woffle woffle, but suffice to say, I'm looking forward to it!

The box is set to record everything,as I plan to be on the bike as much as possible during another sunny spell of weather.

BSB is always good entertainment in all the classes,it's just a pity no one comes from what is probably the best national series in the world,to make the jump to the world stage. Htf is the likes of Taz not able to get a competitive ride with a decent team. He seems to be going from one shower of shite to another. He retired in the last race because his exhaust fell off? I mean what?

After boring WSB I hoped for better in BSB.
Hmm. Fun to watch, but in reality, a WSBK reject from last year wiped the floor with them.
They're all amazing riders, but there's no sign of a rider to star on the world stage

IIRC only 4 riders currently riding at world level.

Scotty, Lowes twins and Jakey.

Not long ago we had 3 or 4 riders in MotoGP and WSB was almost BSB on speed with most of top 10 were Brit riders.

I found it on Quest a hour or two ago, but they were running re-runs of the earlier races due to a red flag.

Stuart Higgs has just been on to say due to an eleven bike crash during the Super Sport race and the on going medical issues the whole event was being cancelled.

I didn't see the crash, I imagine it must be pretty bad, was anyone watching?

I watched it live , its was not good to see . Rider highsided mid pack then all chaos let loose as the following
riders piled into each other. It did look like a couple of riders were hit from behind while on the floor.

11 riders down on first corner, jeez, fingers crossed they're all OK.

My mate went, says at least one rider airlifted out.

Yeah I was watching it on the phone whilst at work, it was pretty bad. I was fully expecting it to be cancelled after they had said racing was suspended until further notice and continued with reruns of earlier races.

In all my years watching bike racing I've never seen a mass pile up like that,it must have been traumatic for the teams.
Owen Jenner was in Wavy Davey's Obsession engineering You Tube videos,just a young bloke going racing..
Not sure what to say really,I just hope that the other riders recover.

I avoided social media today so i could catch up on recorded BSB this evening. Just watched the Supersport race start and said straight away to missus ....."thats not looking good and i have a bad feeling"

Sadly i was correct having seen the suspension of the event then the subsequent cancellation. RIP lads, Owen and Shane, both taken too soon.

During my time trackside with Bemsee i saw a few fatal accidents, always at the start of the race, always when a rider was hit by following bike/bikes (with one exception)

In all my track time, I was only privy to Craig Jones crashing right in front of us.

It all went hush for hours.

The helicopter was silent outside the medical centre for ages.

Luckily, racing is so much safer now than in past years.

It’s not just there, it’s over here too. Maybe it’s because there's a New Zealander involved.

I sat next to Owen at a Dinner and Do back in 2018. I believe he was 14 but he looked 12, and you would have thought he was singing in the Choir instead of picking up a Club Championship.
