Re: The Official Pleasing Purchase Thread

Post by Noggin »

Someone on a local FB page mentioned last week that there’s a new store open in Albertville and the photo she put up had Terry’s Choc Orange at a price comparable to cheap UK prices 😳😳🎉

She also mentioned that there’s was a store in Chambery too 😇

As I was staying in the centre of Chambery Thursday night, I looked it up and on Friday morning, after driving round the block a few times trying to work out how to access the parking (cos the street parking was blocked by PLAC and generally taking two spaces each 🙄🙄. Ok, the spaces were narrow, but damn, they made sure no one else could park nearby 🙄🙄) I found it 🎉🎉

They did indeed have Terrys Chocolate Orange in Dark chocolate. Best of all they had the Mint ones - the BESTEST ones!!

I now have restocked my treat tin with Terry’s Mint and also a couple of dark chocolate orange!!!

Woohooooooo 🎉🎉🎉

Tesco? Just scoffed the two stick bar. I was going to say in the middle but they dont seem to put the sweets in the eggs now. Feel a bit cheated.

My nephews other half is lithuanian. She brought us a cake she made yesterday, which was interesting to say the least. A multi-layered affair, with jelly in between some layers! :wtf: Nice though!

A rather spiffy range bag for gun stuff, new ear defenders, safety glasses, a metal target stand doodad & some paper targets. Gonna go kill some paper tomorrow & possibly do some landscaping work with a Mosin 91/30.

Well an unexpected funeral has made me realise I own no shoes, so quick surf to Clarke's and I now have some funeral shoes;

And because they were cheap / on sale I also have another pair of shoes, although I'll be buggered six ways till Sunday if I know why I bought them or where I'll wear them;

One of these, from the Le Creuset outlet store about 45 mins away. Which is just far away enough to make it not a huge problem to my bank account too often😆
We were in the area, and I've been contemplating an enamelled frying pan for a while, so popped in.

50% off list price made it worth a go 😇

Tikka spice blend from Matt Cooper Bites (no affiliation)

You just mix with natural yoghurt and marinade your meat (Fnarr!)

So far, I’ve tried it on some diced chicken breast at the weekend, cooked it under the grill and I was delicious, just the right amount of spice for my taste. I didn’t go with the nuclear red food dye option.

Last night, I slathered some yoghurt/spice mix on top of a large fillet of salmon, baked it for 20 min in the airfryer, this time the flavour was more subtle (as only on one side rather than all over) but still very nice. The leftovers will be added to salad for lunches :thumbup:

The Seekh kebab and tandoori mixes are likely to be the next ones I try.

I'm currently in love with this spice! They do some great stuff and a lot of low salt qnd gluten free stuff! My mum was friends of the owners Mum and when he started it up i sort of dutifully put an order in, but now its pretty much the only place I shop!

Bought a Lomo leg-bag - I'm going to try going without a tank bag with the new bike so this will be handy for phone, key, passport etc. Stuff I want to know is still there at any given moment!

It either looks a bit like Han Solo's holster or really wanky, perhaps both.

I'll give them a try - they've got a stockist just down the road from me.

As you sort of know the owners you might want to let them know that they've misspelled 'Stockists' as 'Stocklists' in their menu :)

It's a good point - will only be putting things that would otherwise be in my clothing pockets & soft stuff.

I mean it's a fair comment but have I missed something about Lara Croft's weight?
