Cleaning car windscreens - inside

Has anyone tried dilute TFR (Traffic Film Remover)? It's supposed to do a number on external paintwork (just don't leave it on too long)

I wouldn't use TFR, I try and keep it away from window areas as I find it is tough to remove and can cause streaky marks.

If you've got window trims that look like black chrome (like BMW shadow line) the TFR makes it go all funny and rainbowy.

Been out with microfibre, isopropyl alcohol, white vinegar and washing up liquid. And kitchen roll - loads of it
I may have a result.

I give mine a good clean with soapy water and then use isopropyl alcohol on a microfibre cloth

glass cleaner, microfibre cloth, keep polishing until there's no residue. Many people don't polish thoroughly enough and thats what leaves streaks. This method works for all types of glass

My area of expertise!!

As a window cleaner of over 20 years I’d suggest getting hold of some pure water and good quality micro fibre cloths (don’t wash with detergent).

If you feel the need to use anything else try UBIK 2000, dilute it down as per the instructions. It’s good for cleaning nearly anything else too.

An old newspaper dampened with water,then a dry one to finish,better than any branded potion.

I resent every penny I have to spend on a car.
