But I didn't. I'm back, baby
I'm Not Dead
I'm Not Dead
That's been a humdinger of a year since last March. Throat cancer, malnutrition, sepsis and pneumonia. 18 stone to 9 stone. 8 weeks in hospital, blood transfusions, two pipes in my back to drain my lungs, pressure sore on my back down to the bone, drinking 80mg Oxycodone shots all day and night, IV antibiotics etc etc. I nearly died.
But I didn't. I'm back, baby

Some fell out but grew back. More of a bastard is having hardly any salivary glands, they were burnt out by 31 continuous days of radiotherapy. That, along with a badly scarred throat makes swallowing difficult.Count Steer wrote: Mon Jun 23, 2025 7:54 amhI'm surprised after all that lot ^^^ that there's any hair left to dye purple!Mr. Dazzle wrote: Mon Jun 23, 2025 7:22 am I'm just surprised you can get purple hair on the NHS now.

Yumpin' yiminy! What, with all that and a dose of sepsis chucked in for good measure you've survived more potentially lethal assaults than Rasputin did.McSatan wrote: Mon Jun 23, 2025 9:05 amSome fell out but grew back. Hope your rehab is on track. You're probably ready for a nice quiet holiday with a good book or two!

Yeah, that.
I'll add throat cancer, malnutrition, sepsis and pneumonia to the list of effective (but not recommended) ways to lose weight.

Re: I'm Not Dead
Great news, glad to hear.
I'm recovering from my own similar issue, I don't want to talk about it, it's been grim and I stepped away from here to deal with it because I was losing my mind and being too much of a prick (even more than usual) under all the stress.
I'm still trying to get off the Oxys, addiction (even for genuine reasons) is a bitch.
But this isn't about me, it's about you and great to see you still this side of the ground.
God bless you brother.

Well done! Now work on getting back into good shape for woodland wanders and sunset drinks with the loved ones.

Re: I'm Not Dead
Saw a friend yesterday who's been through a lot of treatment, with hair loss. Starts another lot today, likely the same side effect.McSatan wrote: Mon Jun 23, 2025 9:05 amSome fell out but grew back.Count Steer wrote: Mon Jun 23, 2025 7:54 amhI'm surprised after all that lot ^^^ that there's any hair left to dye purple!Mr. Dazzle wrote: Mon Jun 23, 2025 7:22 am I'm just surprised you can get purple hair on the NHS now.
