When I got back to the hotel, he joined us for a couple of hours and we got absolutely spannerred.

I proposed to the current Mrs KFB there... well nearer to the bit where the bird in the green dress is.

Myself, Mrs Log and 2 of the 3 twigs at the Godiva Music Festival last week, middle twig was wandering about with some mates.

I proposed to the current Mrs KFB there... well nearer to the bit where the bird in the green dress is.

It was a much more interesting place than I thought it would be, more pleasant, too, given I'd understood it to be an over-crowded tourist hell-hole.

Also bigger than I'd anticipated and I was struck by it smelling of the sea - I realise that seems daft now.

My only other observations are that the locals drive (?) the same there as in the rest of Italy and that Aperol/Secret/Campari/Limoncello Spritzes are on average 3 Euro.

You can get proper lost in the non-tourist back streets.

I went in August and it wasn't flooded, or smelly. I stayed on the Lido and got the Vaporetto over every day... but this was almost 14 years ago.
