I love the look of the 900RS, except the tank, enough that it fell off my shortlist.

Honda have definitely built them right down to the price they wanted to sell them at. Last one I looked at, in May when the dealer told me they were sold out until end September, was a demo showing 400 miles and its chain was all but dragging on the floor.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: Tue Aug 05, 2025 9:49 pm
Maybe when it comes out, I'll need to look at it carefully, I've looked at Hornets, and they're cheap looking (mostly because they are cheap compared to the CB1000R that I've got)
Reckon there might be a few Hornet 1000 owners finding out why they’re so cheap fairly quickly.

It's too tall & too short, Z1's were long & low. If you see a Z1 & an RS parked together you can clearly see just how wrong they got it.Skub wrote: Wed Aug 06, 2025 10:21 am I want to like the 900RS,but it always seems like Kawasaki nearly got it right.

Re: Should I buy it?
Looks to me like the Honda might have the same fat-tank thing as the 900RS, at least from this article. I don't know if the originals were similarly endowed, my first road bike experience was a GPz750.

Tanks used to be narrow as you sat on the bike, but they never had to make room for a huge airbox.

The original has a fairly skinny tank, you can see the cylinder head while sitting on the bike

Re: Should I buy it?
Bit of knee space would go a long way with both of them. Airbox notwithstanding.
