I want a new bike but I don't know what
I really like my VFR1200F, but while I quite like the DCT gearbox, I don't love it. It's absolutely fine in manual mode and completely toss in auto mode. I like the power, but the sound is pretty quiet. I quite like the riding position, but it's a bit head down for going out for the whole day. I really like the wind protection, way better than my old 1190adv. I don't mind the weight at all; it's never been an issue. I don't need a sports bike; I have a couple of those. I want something I can be excited about riding and looking at.
Suggestions on a postcard, please. I'm even tempted to get something on PCP for the first time.

Re: I want a new bike but I don't know what
TBH mate, i think the 1190Adv (i think it was 1190) was about the best you could own these days. Even if the wind protection isn't perfect it's massively versatile.
Personally i've always been of the logic that wind makes a motorbike... If i want no wind, i'll go in the van/car. The wind in your face/helmet/leathers is what biking is about.

I didn't mind the wind until I rode it to Toulouse, and then it annoyed me enough to get rid of it. Also, the throttle response was shockingly bad, and I felt I had to ride around it every time I took it out. That's one thing that's fantastic about the VFR: buttery smooth and endless power.weeksy wrote: Fri Sep 12, 2025 11:29 am TBH mate, i think the 1190Adv (i think it was 1190) was about the best you could own these days. MV Turismo Veloce, the RC version of you're feeling rich.
Less than common, sporty but upright, open pipe and it'll sound proper nice.
My other suggestion would be the V4 Tuono, the base model is sold as a tourer these days, but I think you might have already had one.

I loved the Tuono I had before it was written off. I'm definitely looking for more comfort and distance ability, though.KungFooBob wrote: Fri Sep 12, 2025 1:53 pm My other suggestion would be the V4 Tuono, the base model is sold as a tourer these days, but I think you might have already had one.

V4 init, though I suppose you could pop it down to Tricky for a belt job.

Go to bike shops, see a bike you like, don't test ride or do any research, buy it - works for me every time.

I really like the look of that.

Now THIS is a sporty Multistrada!

It's an RS, just like a fast 80's Ford!
