That’s nice. Can’t imagine that’s cheap.

At first glance I thought those two windows were the mirrors.

Superduke R, obviously. or MV Brutale 1000RR if you've got money to burn.

I've had 2 and didn't love either. The Tuono v4 was a much better bike. It's not the sort of thing I'm after though.

weeksy wrote: Fri Sep 12, 2025 11:29 am TBH mate, i think the 1190Adv (i think it was 1190) was about the best you could own these days. Even if the wind protection isn't perfect it's massively versatile.
Personally i've always been of the logic that wind makes a motorbike... If i want no wind, i'll go in the van/car. The wind in your face/helmet/leathers is what biking is about.
I didn't mind the wind until I rode it to Toulouse, and then it annoyed me enough to get rid of it. Also, the throttle response was shockingly bad, and I felt I had to ride around it every time I took it out. That's one thing that's fantastic about the VFR: buttery smooth and endless power.
Current 3rd Generation 1290SAS is better than the 1190 in both those regards, also endless power similar to the VFR1200 too albeit not quite as smooth (but smoother than 1190)…

There’s some killer deals out there on PCP on the remaining ones whilst they wait for the 1390SAS to be available in the new year… 4yr warranty on them too!

I felt likewise about the Superduke and also the RC8 I had too… Tuono V4 Factory was a much more polished and enjoyable prospect.

1290SAS is different though… The softer cams and mapping (160bhp and 9500rpm limit vs 180bhp and 10500 limit) make it a much easier engine to live with, much smoother, much more tractable and much less reliant on revs. Similar riding position and handling to the 1190 Adv too, but better wind protection and all the modern bells and whistles…
