Been wearing it for a few hours and the second hand has progressed about 50 seconds!

Thats cos the outer end of the mainspring isn't fixed, its just held by a little braking grease which provides just enough stickyness to stop the spring from unwinding but allows it to slip so the automatic winding mechanism can't overwind it.Mr. Dazzle wrote: Fri May 16, 2025 4:18 pm Even brand new Seiko 5s don't offer any particular resistance when being manual wound, you can also wind them "forever" without hitting a stop.

'99 TAG Kirium: a somewhat rare one: it's the automatic Chonometer and it's a bit battered (but I don't mind that at all), and in the rare "copper" colour - although it looks more salmon pink unless the light hits it right (its definitely more colourful in photos).
