Re: A right now thread
Sitting here giggling cos I remember seeing a van today when doing the last school run.
It was a highway maintenance van
Not funny normally, but this wasn't "Entretien des autoroutes" - it was actually Highway Maintenance !! On uk plates, right hand drive !!
Guessing someone borrowed it to go on hols ???

Watching the England women's rugby match
compared to last nights Canada / New Zealand match both England and France are bleedin' terrible, I might see if I can get a fiver on Canada winning the Cup next week

Better second half, but I still reckon Canada will run rings around England if they dont get bogged down

Just had a snack and coffee in the village and the free grapes turn up. It's harvest time and there's usually plenty of grapes and almonds around.

Put my money where my mouth is, let's see if they'll come through, tough one to call, Canada are a fast team, England are slower but heavy hittersMrLongbeard wrote: Sat Sep 20, 2025 4:23 pm I might see if I can get a fiver on Canada winning the Cup next week

Even though I finished too late to buy more cheese, I am sitting here with the last of the blue and some other bits, biscuits and nuts. And a hoooooge glass of port !!

My wifes friends brother, who is autistic and has mental health issues, went out at 09:30 this morning, dressed but with no shoes on and he's not been seen since! ~We're waiting on news of him now. Been a few sightings of him earlier, so there's hope, but its getting grimmer by the hour. I reckon he'll be fine as he was seen earlier, but its getting very edgy on social media! I feel desperately sorry for the family!

Re: A right now thread
He's still missing and has been out all night. Drove round the general area and then parked up at the park he was seen at. Got out of the car to have a walk round, but heard people calling his name so I came home. Good community effort going on to find him. Fingers crossed...Taipan wrote: Sat Sep 27, 2025 11:29 pm My wifes friends brother, who is autistic and has mental health issues, went out at 09:30 this morning, dressed but with no shoes on and he's not been seen since! ~We're waiting on news of him now. Having a russo-thai fusion meal (leftovers from last nights dinner shenanigans)
A blazingly hot Thai green prawn curry balances nicely with a creamy chicken stroganoff.......and mash!

Finally found and okay apart from cut feet through no shoes etc. But hopefully well overall? Wonderful to see a community mobilised in such a way!Noggin wrote: Sun Sep 28, 2025 6:13 pmCrossing fingers here too - so tough for all concernedTaipan wrote: Sun Sep 28, 2025 3:31 pmHe's still missing and has been out all night. Not long back from a 50 mile round trip on the bike for fish n chips. Only bloody chip shop that does Gluten Free is 25 miles away but it was nice
