Flying with a motorcycle helmet
Is there any issue with taking a motorcycle helment as hand luggage ?
My carrier (Emirates) says not - in a completely casual "why are you even asking me?" sort of way
I don't really want to check it in - in case it doesn't arrive at the other end!
Any experiences?

Re: Flying with a motorcycle helmet
I've seen plenty of people on budget airlines with helmets in proper helmet bags as hand luggage.

Re: Flying with a motorcycle helmet
I flew back from the USA with a new helmet as hand luggage to avoid paying duty on it

Done it loads. A decent helmet bag is best, with pockets and shit, and stuff your helmet with clean socks and pants for the stay. NO point in carrying air about.
I've got one somewhere if you want borrowsies.

Re: Flying with a motorcycle helmet
I have about a million Arai helmet bags - which should do for this trip. But thanks for the offergremlin wrote: Tue Sep 23, 2025 9:04 am Done it loads. A decent helmet bag is best, with pockets and shit, and stuff your helmet with clean socks and pants for the stay. NO point in carrying air about.
