I’ve been in the van and car with my gf a fair bit the last week with her driving, and Jesus H Christ. Her awareness and anticipation is bloody terrible, now I know as motorcyclist our awareness is probably well above average, but she scares me. It wouldn’t surprise me if she runs out of luck and has a crash soon - I just hope she’s in the old pick up truck and not the new van or discovery.

My other half hasn't even got a licence yet.
She's always lived in London so never needed one.

I am slightly concerned about what she'll be like because her left eye is "dormant" (her brain doesn't seem to use it consistently for some reason), so although she seems to have good depth perception, her situational awareness is terrible.

I've a friend who doesn't drive. When I asked her why she said "Some people believe they have a God given right to drive whether or not they are good at it. I know I'm shit".

Mrs.Skub is pretty good. I'm more than happy to let her do the driving most times. Perhaps I'm a little better at parking. All her mates tootle about very slowly in their cars,so when she drives them anywhere it scares the shit out of them.

That much has rubbed off from me.

She's a terrible passenger though,always on co-pilot duties..'slow down,your not on the bike',brake,brake,BRAKE'. Accompanied by much bashing of the passenger footwell.

My wife comes to a full stop at every roundabout. Regardless of if there's stuff coming or not.

The biggest pet peeve is the heater. It's only ever on full/max or completely off, no in between. I never change mine, it's on 20c. Setting it higher doesn't get the car warmer any quicker, but she refuses to believe me.

I don't like wifeys driving, mainly for way she manages to abuse the gearbox. The wrong gear in just about every situation, crunch. Apparently it only happens when I'm in the car.

Mrs S L doesn't drive, thank God. She frightens me when we cycle together, she'd be a menace in charge of a car.

My Mrs is a good driver, gets on with it without being reckless and always pays attention. Can handle a car well too.

I DLAC most of the time, I don't get grief about it unless I do anything dangerous, or the rear wheels overtake the front..

Mine used to drive lots and lots of miles but couldn't (still can't) park for toffee.

Good passenger, often spots things I might have missed. Could be annoying for some but when she says 'I think the traffic has stopped up ahead' that's fine by me, even if I've clocked it. Passenger has a slightly different viewing angle.

As the everyday driver you get used to it, but her in doors will moan like fuck when she's staring at her phone and doesn't brace when you give it a squirt to make a gap.

My little beemer has over 400bhp and 600ft/lb with very little lag, it's no super duper milkfloat but it's pretty lively.

When I first did the "do you want to see what I did with the car?" After the initial "that's a bit unnecessary wtf did you do that for?" I was told "don't do that when I'm not ready, you'll injure my neck"

One year in Spain, she banged me to stop on a quiet motorway. She said "Go for it. Everything"

The wheel eventually stayed down in 4th and carried on to 180 on speedo. She loved it and screamed all the way.

In the Isle of Man I did 180 again up from the Bungalow

A few years ago we were bimbling around Fuertaventura when she banged me to stop. Again she told me to go for it, but only 5 mins. Beautiful bendy roads, billiard table smooth. I gave it everything. Wheel lifting everywhere, hard on the breaks, pushing hard.
When we stopped she was half giggling/ half crying. She said "that was fucking amazing, but don't ever do it again"

Had my kid in the car one day, she was around 12. Was slowing for a light when it turned green & were treated to the sight of her mother just blowing through the opposing red. "was that mom?"... yup.
