But, if you feed the monthly payment into investments/savings you claw some of that difference back + you don't have the whole amount at risk if things take a downturn (assuming you weren't planning to put it into something like a fixed interest ISA).

Been out for a quick spin on my NC - haven’t ridden for a couple of weeks so dug out my lined Furygan textiles and off I went 45 minutes was enough.
This will be the year I get some heated grips fitted ( been saying this for decades)

Out of curiosity, What's wrong with the Eos?

Might not be winning much on the Premiums for a while.
A house is a liability until the day it's paid off. I always paid off more towards to principle every month, but the mortgage company were sneaky fuckers. While the usual payment was applied on the first of every month, the extra wasn't applied until the following month.. so they held the money for 30 days collecting interest on it.. which probably added $Millions to their bottom line.

I like it when the mortgage stops strutting around the house like it owns it, but starts losing weight and you can see the fear in its eyes as the end approaches...

Got up early (ish) to go ski touring but had to check with my mate that the visibility wasn't too bad cos it had already started snowing down here!!!

Anyway, I set off to drive up and now know that I am not good at driving a car in snow!!! I can drive a minibus, sprinter or bus in snow, but a car?? Nope (I do need to remember how to turn off the traction control, that might help!)

By the time I picked her up, it was absolutely hoofing it down with snow, hardly any visibility but, we were both up and ready so we did a very short ski tour (board tour for her ??) and an equally short in distance but much shorter in time ride back down. But an awesome coffee and chat after and we do like going touring, even if its only a very short version!!

Was a bit nerve wracking for me as I don't ski powder!! But we managed to find a bit that was pisted and bloody lovely for the ride back down :) :) :)

The random cat distribution system delivered a loudly meowing Brian (immediate name, given before identifying her as female 😆) to our back door this evening.

There's still a good 4-5 inches of frozen snow out there, so we let her in, gave her some dog food and started to introduce her to the dog.

She's pretty brave. Also pretty clean and not skinny, so possibly just a bit far from home. No collar though, and nobody on the neighbours' WhatsApp group or the village FB page has claimed her.

She's spent all evening chilling in the half of the house without the dog in it. We've put an indoor CCTV camera on to see what she does and left her to it, with the cat flap taped open so she can come and go as she pleases.

Let's see if she's there in the morning...

We had a guest cat (Biggles) at our last place. Would meow at the door because it could see us inside. I used to comb it because it had longish fur and got a bit tangled up. Turned up every evening, same time. Never let it stay overnight as it clearly belonged elsewhere but it would spend the evening as a lap cat, getting primped. (The owners probably kicked it out every evening with the command 'go and get combed' ).

Didn't see it for a week. Turned up looking like it had had a trip to the cat beauty salon. Even smelled like it! Guess it had been at the cattery while the 'owners' were away and it had been polished up before handing back.

Yep - we can't feel one, but if she's still around come Monday we'll be taking her to be checked. Typical that she turns up on a Saturday night when there's nothing open expect for emergencies!

All part of the cunning cat plan. :D

It looks a lot like Biggles, but younger...it's Reincarnated-cat!

Around here, we have a few animal rescue places that will scan a cat or dog for free in the hope of reuniting them with their owners.

I had a visitor cat when I had my Tmax. It seemed to live in the bush/hedge outside my house, but would wait for me to come home and would jump up for a kip on the ever comfortable Tmax seat, even whilst I was putting the locks on. Cheeky fooker used to hiss at me if I tried to stroke it, or if I wanted to get it off the bike so I could use it. :D
