I really don't get the attraction of twazzing about on a clown bike. The whole monkey bike thing baffles me.

Well, the day is coming when I have to let the AT go, but that day isn't now. But, I suppose I could get the scoot in ready...

See what you've done! :D

A couple of health issues (facet arthropathy) mean getting on and off it is becoming increasingly difficult and it is lump of a thing in some ways. Trouble is i love the bike and don't want to let it go, but run the risk of dropping it, which I have done once already, fortunately just onto the lawn though. My worry is i'll drop it onto a neighbouring bike at work or suchlike.

I'm really fancying a monkey bike atm. Yep, they're a clown bike alright as Skub says, but just for riding local, down the lanes, shorts and t shirt to the local in the summer 😯 reckon they'd be perfect. 100 kg, million mpg, 50 odd mph, the perfect machine. 😉👍

Might go the Forza 750 route, as I think they have more legroom than the X-ADV? Still a heavy bike though, so maybe not much more suitable than the AT, although the seat height is much lower.

I possibly have a SH300 coming my way, but its not ULEZ compliant. So I asked Honda about a certificate of conformity and they want £170 to supply one! but its still a cheap option. I do like that sized scoots as I actually use them outside of commuting, whereas with bikes I dont. Scoots are just so good for whizzing round town etc. Hopefully the AT will be here for a while yet though...

Apart from covid we have toured Europe for the last 20 years . This year will be our last trip. Slovinia here we come. We have done Croatia , Montenegro a few times, Italy and what not .

The triumph trophy is a proper thing to tour with. I love the bike. We used to do 4 or 5 rallies each year, now it’s just the farmyard party

The trophy doesn’t owe me anything, maybe there’s a royal Enfield on the horizon

I love my V85tt, but the rear shock needs servicing or replacing. As it's a 2019 model with 34k miles on the clock, I'm tempted to trade it for a newer model with tubeless tyres. But apart from one or two issues, long ago resolved, it's been reliable, so there's the 'better the devil you know' argument.

So my changes for 2026 are likely to be an upgraded V85tt, or this V85tt with a new shock. Longer term, like most of us aging types on here, or so it seems, I'll be looking for something lighter.
