That's very common for some folk who exhibit their bikes at events. A van is very much part of the arsenal for show queens.Dodgy69 wrote: Tue Jan 13, 2026 6:40 pm He wheels them out of his van, takes a pic and back in the van, haven't you noticed.![]()

There's a certain Luddite complex among older Kaw owners... I own five, three are on the road & two are in boxes. None of them were made this century. ('75, '78, '83, '95 & '99). There's a few more on the want/need list that are just as old (GPz900R, GPz750 Turbo, KZ1000J/R restomod etc).Supermofo wrote: Tue Jan 13, 2026 5:03 pm @Skub You are my forum hero, in a world of people wrapping up not only nice Ducati's and stuff but even shite old modern day Bandit equivalents, it's mint to see proper classics getting ridden all year round whilst still looking like a million dollars and be being looked after right![]()
I admit to taking some delight in educating/humiliating riders of newer bikes who weren't born when any of mine were built on the correct way to make good progress in the local canyons.

Mate of mine finally uncrated his '75 H2-C a few years ago. To date, it has never been fired up or even had gas in it. It shows about 3 miles, all accumulated pushing it into shows & back again from his enclosed trailer.

Yeah,I know folk like that too and I don't knock it. There are many facets in biking and for some it's enough to own and show bikes. The pleasure is in how they look, winning rosettes and preserving the history. It gives us all something to look at.ZRX61 wrote: Tue Jan 13, 2026 8:03 pm Mate of mine finally uncrated his '75 H2-C a few years ago. To date, it has never been fired up or even had gas in it. I like to keep a bike as good as I can,but for me that's tempered with the need to ride the things,so they are never going to be concours, they'll always show signs of use.
Strokes for folks innit.

Even when he had a van, my Dad refused to use it for taking the bike to events, unless it was things like track days. He had a lot to say about trailer queens...

According to my weather app today the temps hit a balmy +8,so no ice
I went for a spin on the SV650S

I called in at one of my mates for a catch up & another mate was also there
He's just bought this

I prefer my V-Twin

First ride of the year, hopefully the first of many.

It's a bit different to his other bike,a 800 V-Strom.When I saw it I called him a chromosexual,he also admitted it's loud so I told him he's not riding in frontSkub wrote: Sat Jan 17, 2026 8:04 pm There'll be some amount of toothbrushes to keep that Harley clean.![]()

Oh man,it was great to get out today. Blowy as fook and a chilly east wind, but who cares,eh?

We had a local spin.Cold wind but no ice or rain,I'll take that for January
.

This Aprilia was at our local brew stop, can't remember when I last saw one

Barry was on the Transalp today but he also runs a MZ Baghira & says it's the same Yamaha 660 motor in both bikes

You're a brave man @Bustaspoke ; I need full thermals just to venture out into the shed. The bikes give me that 'don't even think about it' look when I enter...

Re: When/Where/Pics was the last time you rode your bike ?
Went up a new baranco today. Was fairly steady going.
We'd heard there was a tough bit so stopped.
Hippy went further up the baranco.
Mark went up walking path to left
We had to use the walking path for about 400m then back onto baranco
The climb out was steep as fuck and I toppled off. Was tough to get going again but managed it in the end
After all the rain none of us have ever seen the island so green.

Lovely day so rolled out the GSXR for first time in ages.
Bit cloudy on far side and dropped to 17c up in the hills but great day
Did the perimeter route. 125 miles and with a few stops filled up the afternoon

If you go into the camera settings you can turn the 'model' watermark off, then on one will know you've got a poor persons phone
